Meet the Contestants!

First is Bristol Owen! Being raised with 4 brothers, you learn quickly how to tough it out, especially living in the not-so-great neighborhoods of San Myshuno. This is her chance to prove her strength to herself and to everyone who said she couldn’t succeed. 

Second up is Cassie Cleaveland. That name just sounds famous, doesn't it? That’s what Cassie thinks anyway. Her lifelong dream was to become a superstar, and she’ll do whatever she has to do to feel like she’s living that life now. Eating only the best meals and swiping small valuables from the elite are how she keeps pushing herself to get to the top. But why work than hard when you can get famous by winning the first ever Cowplant Hunger Games?

Third is Dominique. This bodybuilder wannabe is desperate to push herself to the ultimate limits. Track, Cross country, tennis, and soccer weren’t doing it for her. The adrenaline isn’t enough anymore. She wants an all out survival of the fittest, and she thinks she’s finally found it. 

Fourth is Julien. The only reason he is here is because he can’t back down from a challenge, especially not one from his best friend Ricky. Yes, he knows he was stupid, but he has to do it now. There’s no choice but to win to fix his mistake.

Fifth up is Marianna. Though she’s never had a real job, she's really confident in herself when she does set a goal for herself. When she first heard about the challenge, she figured she could get rich quick without really having to do that much...

Sixth is Orion. He’s just a genuinely good guy, which maybe just makes him naive. He signed up for the Cowplant Hunger Games just to interact with the massive cowplants that he’d only dreamed of growing. He genuinely believes that he can befriend and train them in order to save everybody... Oh sweetheart... 

Seventh is Ricky. He's always just been a huge goofball, getting in to any kind of trouble he could to push away his gloomy thoughts. Even though he’s a young adult now, he still doesn’t act like one, or think about the consequences. When he impulsively signed up for the Cowplant Hunger Games, he challenged his friend Julien, who’d pride wouldn't let him refuse. Now their in a friendly competition and betting on which one of them will win it all.

Finally is the eighth contestant: Tyler. Tyler also has some gloomy thoughts, but she gets through them by sharing her story, reaching out to others, and letting good come out of her struggle. She signed up for the Hunger Games, and has decided to film it, in order to set an example. If she can survive this, she (and everyone else in the world) can survive anything!

This is my challenge set up, pre-reset. These are from the test round I did. I have since evicted that household and placed the full 8 competitor household again!

The first floor is as plain as can be, just a room with stairs so I could lock them in the bunker for the duration of the challenge.

On the second floor I have simple rooms, 1 for each contestant with just the bunker beds. As sims die, there bed will be replaced by their urns and their doors (both the bedroom and their gate in the starting room) will be locked.

The common area behind another set of double doors is not luxury, but it actually pretty nice. They have a large nice kitchen with a big dining table. The living room area has enough seats for all the competitors with 2 large couches and 2 big plush chairs. There is one tv to satisfy the fun need.

I decided a community bathroom was the easiest option without being too easy. There are 2 toilet stalls and 2 shower stalls. 

Finally, the third floor is the Challenge Room. I have mine set up as double doors to conveniently lock sims in or out as needed. I also have 8 rooms set up as a sort of starting gate. I place one sim in every room and let them all out at the same time.

My plan is to move the final winner of year one onto another lot with aging off. My desire is to do 8 “years” of the hunger games and then make the 8 winners from all the years return to participate in the Cowplant Hunger Games again!

Cowplant Hunger Games Challenge

Forgivemysims’ Cowplant Hunger Games Challenge inspired in part by James Turner’s “Semaj’s Cowplant Lovelympics” (The Sim Supply) video. 

SET UP:

Make 8 random sims ( I used story mode to randomize my sims). Edit them as much or as little as you like.

Sims must quit jobs if you use story mode.

Make a basement level (or levels) with 8 bedrooms, a bathroom with 2 toilets and 2 showers, a kitchen, a dining area, and a common area.

Common areas may only have couches, chairs, and one TV for fun need.

There should be a separate room (or level) with 7 full grown complaints (use bb.showhiddenobjects).

BEGINNING THE ROUND:

As soon as the household is moved in, you should move all sims into the challenge room with the cow plants and lock them inside.

You may not control any sim while they are in the room other than to milk the cowplants and end the round through the death of a sim.

All but one sim in the challenge room should eat cake from a cowplant. This sim has an advantage: their gardening skill is raised to the next level, they may leave the challenge room to tend to needs, and they are immune to elimination for that round. 

All other sims must remain in the challenge room until there is an elimination.

Once 1 cowplant puts out cake, the remaining sims must be evaluated based on their gardening skill (level and percent). The sim with the lowest skill gets eliminated by being forced to eat the cake.

If the sim doesn’t die by eating the cake the second time, make them eat the next one that comes up.

AFTER THE ROUND:

After the sim is eliminated, all sims should return to common area to tend to needs.

Use cheats (MCCC) to remove buffs if you would like.

Pick one sim (most likely your favorite competitor) to milk and feed the cowplants after the end of a round.

Remove 1 cowplant per round. For example, you start with 8 sims and 7 cowplant, but after round 1 you are left with 7 sims and 6 cowplants, etc.

As soon as cake is out again, sims must return to the challenge room for the next round to begin

Eventually you will be left with only one winner for the year! Is it the one you hoped would win?

The rules are fairly simple: write an entry (authors can write up to two) with a min word count of 3,500 based of one or more of the themes. Winners get a lovely banner to look at!
