Headcanon that Arnold would leave his hat with Helga to remember him by. He has his parents back and no longer needs the memento. I imagine Helga giving him her bow/ribbon with the same sentiment in mind, and their ideas end up being a coincidental surprise for both of them.
Totally didn't forget about Shortaki week...hahaha. Pretend I'm on time. But ya, I've never taken part in it until now. I also now realize how difficult it is to draw them. Especially Arnold.

Late entry. My first time ever contributing to ShortakiWeek. I worked really hard on this so I hope you all enjoy :) please let me know your thoughts! Also I’m new to posting on tumblr so excuse any mistakes plz.
The background on the first and third pics are taken from the show. “Rhonda’s Glasses” idk the second one sorry :p The others I drew myself. I used the first background as a guide for the last drawing- I’m sure it’s obvious as they’re kinda.. But I had to try it lol (˶˃⤙˂˶) four different backgrounds cuz I just didn’t know where to put them.
Of course you may interpret my drawing however you’d like, but I’d like to share what I envision.
I see these two as having just freshly started dating. Keeping it to themselves at first, then letting their closest friends, Gerald and Phoebe, in on it too. But when it comes to publicly displaying their affection, Helga still feels very shy. After all, to show a softer, more affectionate side of yourself is to display vulnerability- at least in her mind. As much as she’d love to show off to the world her, now reciprocal, love with Arnold, she can’t help but feel kinda jumpy. Anytime she senses someone approaching, she instinctively pulls away. ｡°(°¯᷄◠¯᷅°)°｡
Poor Arnold tries to encourage Helga to set her insecurities aside, but he’s facing some resistance. Maybe if he could just hold onto her hand a little tighter..
Rest assured, she’ll get used to it soon enough. And thankfully, as we all know, Arnold is a patient and understanding guy. They’ll get plenty of moments alone to indulge in each other without any prying eyes (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

Entrada tarde. Mi primera vez contribuyendo a ShortakiWeek. Trabajé mucho para completarlo así que espero que lo disfruten :) Soy nueva al usar Tumblr así que disculpar cualquier error. Y a mi español terrible (ó﹏ò｡)
El fondo del primero y tercero imagen lo tome directo del dibujo, capítulo “Anteojos de Rhonda” y la otra no lo sé perdón :p
Las otras lo dibujé yo. Use el fondo del primero como guia para el último dibujo- seguramente es bastante obvio porque son medio…
Pero bue, tuve que intentarlo (˶˃⤙˂˶) cuatro diferentes fondos porque no supe dónde ponerlos.
Por supuesto que puedan interpretar mi dibujo como les parecen bien, pero quisiera compartir lo que yo imagino.
Yo los veo siendo una pareja muy nuevo. Guardándolo para ellos solos al principio. Luego contándole a sus amigos más cercanos, Gerald y Phoebe. Pero cuando es tiempo de demostrar su afección al público, Helga se pone muy tímida. Para demostrar su lado amable y cariñoso, hay que revelar vulnerabilidad- según ella.
Aunque le encantaría demostrar su amor, ya devolvido, con Arnold, no puede evitar de sentirse miedosa. Cuando siente que alguien se acerca, instintivamente se aleja.

Pobre Arnold quiere que Helga pone de lado sus inseguridades, pero hay resistencia. Si solo pudiera sostenerla más fuerte..
Les aseguro, enseguida se va a acostumbrar. Por suerte, como todos los sabemos, Arnold es un tipo simpático y con mucha paciencia. Van a tener suficiente momentos solos para disfrutar de cada uno sin que nadie más lo ven (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
