there’s something so vulnerable about ash sitting by the food of his bed at two am when the whole of chinatown should be sleeping.

not that shorter’s complaining   -    aside from the fact that it’s two am and him being startled awake at the sight of ash there had nearly made him want to draw army knife he taped under his bed frame.    sure,   he’d cursed,   but aside from that ?    he lets his heart rate goes back to normal,   and slumps into the bed because    -    he trusts ash.   fuck,   he trusts ash with all his life a thousand times over.   he just hopes ash coming in here hadn’t alerted nadia back.   that would mean shorter needs to provide an explanation and lie one out.    he could do it   -   he’d just prefer not to.
