[So the final strains of Honey and Sis' sign-on signal for their shortwave Audio Radiance, as it were--as in Queen's "Radio Ga-Ga"--fade off into the ether, followed by--] SIS, rather excitedly, as is her habit: This, fellow shortwave listeners, or what few there actually still are out there, is the Audio Radiance of Honey and Sis via shortwave, warming ourselves up for another session of worldcasting via shortwave -- HONEY, interjecting: Which will more or less last God-knows-how-long it will hold out on the part of both of us; nonetheless, I hope you'll stay tuned! SIS: And remember, we appreciate your reception reports, the better to see how far 50 watts of Effective Irradiated Power on shortwave can go across the ionospheric universe … which, surprisingly, you can never know until we get the QSL's from your end unto ours. [From an early-morning surprise worldcast such as the duo formerly of The Hanna-Barbera Happy Hour are known for, to the bemusement of the SWX confraternity remaining out there] HONEY, with modest excitement: We have a little announcement we'd like to make unto you listeners of this little shortwave toy of ours-- SIS, also excitedly: That this station now has a name for once-- BOTH, with enthusiasm: THE AUDIO RADIANCE OF HONEY AND SIS! SIS: And we certainly hope you'll keep listening to these worldcasts as much as you have been in past--and then some ...

From the shortwave audio radiance of Honey and Sis during the late Lake City Waterski Days Character Convocation

SIS, with much exuberance: Folks, isn't it surprising to find us, alongside your favourite Hanna-Barbera characters as well, here in the Birthplace of Waterskiing-- HONEY: As in Lake City, Minnesota, no less! SIS, adding some charm to the whole: And to actually be able to try the waterskiing experience for ourselves in the town where it all started with two pine boards crafted by one Ralph Samuelson back in 1922! HONEY: Which, if you ask, went off rather well, and then some! SIS: Just wearing tankinis for our part, understand!

So Honey and Sis have stumbled upon those Kwik Trip Mountain Dew Dunkers donuts for the sake of their surprise shortwave worldcasts on their travelling Shortwave Audio Radiance ...

[The whole going on over some Puerto Rican coffee such as the two are fond of, know] HONEY, somewhat stunned at the appearance: How was I to know that these particular donuts somehow weren't gathering mold in the warehouse for some time already? Especially when you sense where they look a rather moldy green, to begin with.... SIS, trying to add some levity: And you wonder if it's even scary enough for Scooby-Doo to investigate, or even the Clue Club vis-a-vis the pure food laws! [A brief pause while our gals sample said donuts with coffee, whence Sis picks up the dialogue:] But I will say, ye of the Audio Radiance, the flavour, as much as the concept, is an interesting one--considering that Kwik Trip's locations are in six Midwestern states-- HONEY, interjecting: And in two such, Iowa and Illinois to be exact, they're called Kwik Star to avoid confusion with Quik Trip--with a Q, know! SIS: And at any rate, folks, any initial speculation we may have had about these Mountain Dew Dunkers being mouldy-looking have become pretty much dispelled; come to think of it, the taste is a little on the fascinating side of things! HONEY: Especially with Puerto Rican coffee And just so you know, this is only available for a limited time, so make sure you get several boxes for the sake of novelty value!! SIS, slightly indifferent: Come to think of it, isn't "novelty value" perhaps stretching it? HONEY: Beats me ...

Once again, with the shortwave audio radiance of Honey and Sis

SIS, sharing a bit of amusing trivia about the hometown of one of their regiular correspondents, as in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales: Honey, I bet you didn't know this about Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch-- HONEY, somewhat stunned: What exactly do you mean? SIS: No less than Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is the birthplace of the Womens' Institute movement in Great Britain ... back in 1916, to be exact! HONEY, stunned: So what exactly is a Womens' Institute, Sis? SIS: They're basically educational and discussion groups for mainly working-class women, sharing recipes and topical discussion. HONEY, with sarcasm obvious: Rather fascinating, if I may say so....

Meanwhile, on the shortwave audio radiance of Honey and Sis

[Mise en scene: In their legendary GMC motorhome travelling shortwave station during morning coffee and cinnamon rolls ...] SIS, getting down to brass tacks: I assume you've heard on the news that the last of the celebrated(?!) Dionne Quintuplets, by name Annette, passed away last Christmas Eve; her sister Cécile died on their 91st birthday back in May, leaving Annette as the last surviving quintuplet. HONEY, befuddled: So when did the other quintuplets yield up the ghost? SIS: For the record, Émelie died from an epileptic seizure in 1954; Marie died in 1970 from what turned out being a blood clot in the brain after she fell down stairs; and Yvonne died of lung cancer in 2001. HONEY, somewhat puzzled: So how exactly do the Dionne Quintuplets, and the passing of the last such, actually relate to coffee? SIS: You have to understand, Hon, that the Dionne Quintuplets were born to rather poor French-Canadian parents as had six children previously; such was the rationale which the Ontario Government of the day hath in removing the five from their parents and putting such on public display while otherwise being brought up in hyper-scientific conditions of perfection as monitored by Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe--never mind all the ads they appeared in for the likes of Palmolive Soap, Karo Corn Syrup, Quaker Oats and the Baby Ruth candy bar supposedly showing the five as rather happy and carefree. Yet after their father reclaimed custody in 1943 after a prolonged legal battle, things turned into something almost out of the plot of a Twilight Zone episode, if you ask me-- HONEY, slightly impatient: Could you PLEASE get to the coffee point of the Dionne Quintuplets angle? SIS: I was about to get to that ... in the 1965 memoir of the then-four remaining Quints, We Were Five by title, they acknowledged that, while their older siblings were allowed coffee as young as 13 years of age, the Quints were not allowed such until 20 years of age. HONEY: Sheeesh--!!!

As Honey and Sis let slip late one night on their shortwave audio radiance

HONEY, rather flabbergasted in tone and presentation: I suppose some of you listeners and SWX'ers out there must be wondering about what would pass for our vices, personal and otherwise--or what pass for them. SIS: Which, at any rate, do NOT--repeat, DO NOT--include the likes of smoking-- HONEY: Never mind the substance, be it tobacco, cannabis or "herbal mixtures"-- SIS: Or even vaping-- HONEY: And we eschew liquor asd well, though we may have the odd non-alcoholic beer on occasion-- SIS: Or overdoing it on pornography, though we do admit to having a healthy interest and fascination in sexuality. HONEY: Credit Peter Potamus' books about his exploits in the uncharted parts of the Polynesian, whose natives happen to enjoy sex as a vehicle of fun and relaxation. SIS: Even among dolphins, I understand. HONEY: But then again, we admit to enjoying Puerto Rican and Hawaiian coffee blended, as well as cinnamon rolls. SIS: Not to mention doing some diving underwater ... which is always a rather fascinating experience, is it not? HONEY: Judging by the number of us Funtastics who enjoy their diving, and then some, we can't quite resist the allure of the underwater side of life! SIS: Not to mention enjoying small-town diners and the food they have, as well as travelling aound and pulling off these shortwave worldcasts-- HONEY: Hopefully, listeners, you nhave the idea....
