You changed your theme! It looks awesome! How did you like the finale? I was counting on there being something for Defan, for me to hold on to something about Defan considering what's happened with their story over the last two seasons and this finale just sucked for me. Everything was predictable and I hated how in the end, it was all about Delena and nothing about Defan.
YES. OH MY GOD. i haven’t come down from my fuming rage quite yet so just gimme a minute lol.
i honestly think that was the worst tvd episode to date to be honest. it dragged on, and oddly enough (considering the plot) nothing even happened? it was just a bunch of people dying and coming back to life with confusing consequences.
also it had no emotional impact for me, literally none whatsoever. i think it had to do with the fact that everybody predicted this ending months ago lol. we aaall knew damon was going to die— and for what purpose? what was his motivation? it didn’t show damon dying for any particular reason. was it because of stefan? is he magically a good person now? was he just randomly hit with the hero bug for no apparent reason and wanted to sacrifice himself? it was the most emotionally stunted self-sacrifice ever.
and that brings me to the LACK OF DEFAN.
WE ALL KNEW DAMON WAS GOING TO DIE AND THERE WASN’T EVEN A DEFAN GOODBYE. like that’s what i was EXPECTING from this episode. SOME DEFAN BAIT FOR NEXT SEASON.
one defan scene in the entire episode. the writers gave us a 15 minute delena goodbye with elena sobbing as usual (sorry elena, your cries fall on deaf ears considering that’s all you do and have been doing for 3 seasons now) but not damon going to say goodbye to his brother? damon could potentially be dead forever (because hell, he’s not aware that jp will bring him back lol) and he didn’t say goodbye to stefan.
instead he claimed that being loved by elena was the best thing that happened to him in 173 years. like…..remind me again why i’d even watch s06? stefan died and there was practically no acknowledgement of that. no realization that hit damon— nothing.
it was still all about ships.
and i’m sorry but that bamon scene was laughable (and predictable. we all knew it was going to happen too). damon & bonnie have had one scene together all season, and he also just terrorized her a few episodes ago and now she’s suddenly glad to be going into the oblivion with him? i get that it was only them and of course you’d be relieved to not be dying alone, but it just goes back to what the tvd writers are horrible at— emotional impact. i know i was supposed to feel something in that last scene, but considering what’s happened over the past two seasons between them i just don’t care about bonnie and damon working things out.
especially not when things between his brother aren’t even worked out yet. i just don’t get the angle of these writers.
the only good i can dig out of this episode is that the delena scene seemed like some sort of romantic goodbye. like a closed chapter. like i’m hoping next season focuses on the gilberts (now that ric is back) and the salvatores as families. stefan & elena are no longer romantically involved, and judging by writer interviews they don’t plan on going down that road again. and now delena is closed. so we’ll see what happens.
also they’re all human now? yay? (don’t care). call me a fool but i’m hoping that this will end with stefan choosing to turn again to be with damon, and it’ll parallel stefan forcing damon to turn in 1864.
it also didn’t imply what they were going to do with caroline, tyler or matt next season. so bravo for that failure as well. most of the characters (as usual) were throwaways in this episode. so as per usual, s06 is up in the air and it only created more questions that most people don’t care about following up on.
sorry for the rant! ahahah i just can’t with this show. just when you think it can’t get any worse. all in all the lack of defan was frankly just insulting.
