“You think women choose to wear the burka? WATCH: What would you do if your sister chose to work: “I’d shoot her” #BorisJohnson *credit @LaloDagach* https://t.co/N6y8PBkOsU”
You have to see this video, you will be outraged
3. Damn, It's Hot
The crosswalk is nothing but lines of molten footprints and the light isn’t going to change anytime soon. You wait at the corner, flanked by your parents and your grandmother. The door behind you opens and a server comes out to wait on the single table outside—god, but it’s hot.
A second glance at the table shows that there sits the woman who had loudly complained inside the restaurant earlier. You’d thought she’d gone home, but there she is, the wrought iron screaming under her. She doesn’t look so different from the man across from her; they’re both large and loud and—dare you think it?—ugly.
The server, a pretty blonde woman in a purple dress, says, “I’m sorry the table wasn’t already set. We didn’t think anyone would be out here in this weather.”
The man grunts. The woman says, “Well if you didn’t want anyone out here, put the tables inside.” She folds her arms. You wonder how there’s room for the rolling hills of her forearms under her breasts, but there.
“It’s not the we don’t want anyone out here, it’s just—”
“Honey, I’ve been coming here for thirty-one years. I think I know when I’m not wanted.” But she still sits firmly in her chair, making no move to leave.
“That’s not the case,” the server says, laying down silverware on the blinding cloth napkins. “Can I get you something to drink?”
The man says, “You ever been to a restaurant where you didn’t want a drink?” and proceeds to laugh as though that was the funniest thing in the world. Then he and the woman ask for some sort of alcohol that sounds cheap and probably tastes like sweat.
The woman opens her mouth and you feel like hitting her. She says, “Damn, it’s hot.”
“Really,” you whisper, wondering why no one is reacting to the icebergs in tank tops sitting behind you, but your grandmother nudges you in the elbow and smiles.
“Yes, it certainly is,” the server says. “I really am sorry about there being no room inside.”
“Yeah,” says the woman, and you feel like you might just go up to her and scream in her face, “but it’s fine. There are a hundred other restaurants in town if you people don’t want our money.” And again, she stays right in her chair. The server looks as though she might tear off her apron and walk into the street. Instead she just goes inside without a word to get their drinks and probably (hopefully) spit in them.
The light changes and the irritating how-long-you-have-to-get-across-twenty-feet-of-asphalt timer begins.
You decide not to bus tables, not fucking ever.
I hate people who act as if they're the most cleanest and most perfect human being on the whole wide world. FUCK YOU! Quit acting like you've never done a sin on your entire existence. Pwede ba, Nakakapikon na kayo.
