I just read your reply! Yeah, it's honestly just frustrating with the cc. I thought they said there would be new stuff for the cc? Even beards for men?????? And then they weren't even capable of porting the characters correctly....

I’m not saying that we know the full context of the situation. I’m not trying to argue that The Outsider has absolutely no culpability as he is still responsible for lending power to people. 

I am saying that your assertion that The Outsider simply likes to “play around” is wrong, and that the reaction people are having to Daud’s words are based on what they know so far -- which isn’t entirely unreasonable. 

We spent a whole game with Billie Lurk learning more about the context of her situation. In addition, we know her history with Daud as an underling. There’s a reason why people don’t vehemently hate her. 

The whole “The Outsider is to blame for all of this” is spread throughout the Abbey of the Everyman’s ideology and rhetoric, which has lead to abuses and oppression of the downtrodden within the Dishonored universe. 

The powerless who reach out to him are murdered by the Abbey. The few The Outsider has lent his power to were powerless to some degree, not just random people who he chose to “mess with.” 

So to in turn strip The Outsider of his purpose and his context in order to defend Daud is ridiculous, given that he is already perpetually used as a scapegoat in order to justify atrocities. 

Also there’s no reason to villainize The Outsider for being “emotionless,” even though he isn’t lacking completely in emotions despite how much of his humanity was stripped away when he was killed the first time. 

All I am saying is that The Outsider is a complex character in his own right, and that the reaction people may have to Daud are based on the context they have right now and the relationship we know Billie has with him.
