Story idea I've been spinning round in my head for a few weeks now, inspired by Adventure Time and the Powerpuff Girls:

Deleri Lectus, robotics and tech genius, defends the world and her home city of Megalopolis alongside her ancient automaton dad and her elementally-powered sisters. Thanks to their efforts the people of the world can live in peace and safety.

One day, during a routine superhero battle against a minor villain, Deleri is knocked out. Then she wakes up somewhere else.

It's the same city, but something is very wrong. The streets are dilapidated, the sky is full of smog and ominous purple lights, and robotic enforcers patrol the streets.

This city is a dystopia ruled by none other than Deleri's younger sisters. But in this universe they're not her sisters, because in this universe, Deleri doesn't exist.

She confronts the dictator versions of her sisters, finds the deactivated and damaged body of her robodad and takes off with him, running away from her sisters' agents who consider her knowledge and opposition to their regime a threat.

Now Deleri is on a quest to understand what happened to this timeline, and how she can help fix it. And if possible, how to get back home.

Some more details:

Deleri wears a type of powered suit similar to Iron Man. Her appearance is basically "Cthulhu as a teenage girl" with green skin, tentacles for hair, and bat wings.

Her sisters are called Tourmaline and Pyrope. Tourmaline has fire powers and Pyrope has water powers.

In her original timeline, Deleri and Pyrope helped their sister avoid the temptation of using a dark fire that gave her enhanced powers but corrupted her. In this timeline Tourmaline still has the dark fire.

Deleri gets around in a cool airship which she constantly modifies and upgrade.

She gathers a small found family of friends and allies to help her in her mission(s). The first of which is Snowfall, AKA Snowfy. A snow elemental who ran away from home in the Weather Kingdom. She quickly becomes Deleri's girlfriend.

Deleri's robot dad is so ancient that nobody knows how to make the fuel that powers him and he has to conserve it

In Deleri's timeline, her dad was in sleep mode for centuries when a strange woman placed baby Deleri in his arms and then ran off, never to be seen again. He tried to find Deleri's parents but eventually decided to adopt her himself.

In this timeline Robodad expended all of his fuel to protect Pryope and Tourmaline against a powerful enemy. That's why he's deactivated now. This event led to the sisters eventually becoming dictators.

Idea for a show.

The main character starts the show knowing that....

1) He’s a character in the TV show.

2) That during the season finale he’s going to die.

He knows this through....some means.... either someone leaving the script or finding the ending spoiled on some website that later disappeared.

So you have this person and you think, obviously they’ll try to fight fate. They don’t, they grieve for themselves and then....well they then start trying to make good the time they have left.

They help people, they smile more, they essentially try to be their personal best every day till the end.

THIS, THOSE ACTIONS, they cause the ending to change. The viewer sees it at first as more people attending the main characters funeral service, but then they see less and less of the funeral service as they learn more and more of the events that lead to the Main characters death.

And eventually it works its way to the season finale and the Main Character lives. They live because the good things they did created a chain reaction that also affected by...several degrees the circumstances the person that was supposed to be the catalyst for the main characters death. Thus changing fate.

The same thing happens during season 2. Season 3. and every season up until the series finale.

Then the finale takes place. The usual character is instead greeted to the fact that they are actually on set of the show and everyone is referring to them by the actors name. The show is kinda stuck and the MC is allowed to sorta wander around and inadvertently get followed around by the Shows main writer. They talk and they talk about the show/his life. How they didn’t expect it to get however many seasons the show ends up running. But the talk turns to the writer not being sure how the show should end.

Each season they have stacked a worse fate against the MC who somehow through their acts of good changed their very fate and well they don’t know how either to save him this time and don’t feel compelled to kill the MC. The MC goes home to his.....actors home and sleeps or tries to, thinking how he would want to end.

The next day he finds the writer and offers a solution. The show resumes and the MC goes about his day following the script. He does not die. He insteads ends the show with a big party where he invited everyone he’s ever helped or who helped him and ends the show on a happy note.

And....that’s the entire idea.

In the wake of GOT, now would be an excellent time for a Dragonriders of Pern adaptation. It’s different enough not to be a retread (less grimdark, sci fi instead of fantasy) but hits a lot of similar notes. It’s got a fuedal/ psuedo-medieval otherworld with a diverse population, capable, well developed female leads, political intrigue, drama, and moral ambiguity. But most of all, it has both motherfucking telepathic dragons that you bond with and ride to fight a viscerally upsetting global threat (in the form of flash-eating goo that rains from the sky) and empathetic mini dragons that will bond with you and then sit on your shoulder and nibble your ear. Classic series that we finally have the technology to do justice. Someone needs to get on this. #pernseries
