I was looking at different book covers, especially for comics and manga.
And there are so many covers with just people on it, which usually just shows people in average home or school clothes.
If you showed them in an environment with objects related to the story, that would help people know more about it and then be more inclined to go after what they want which gives the artist more chances for their story to be noticed by others.
