The objective of our program is to involve serious, committed students entering grades five through nine in a fully-staged play or musical using professional production practices while educating them in all aspects of theatre production.  Shek JR was our second production, having performed Annie JR in 2014. Students enjoyed the experience so much that they started holding “Shrek Reunions” which included a day at the mall, a DVD-watching party, and get-togethers to see some of our interns and Academy graduates in their high school productions. Our students attend many different schools in the area but the bonds they formed carried well beyond the production and were alive and present in this year’s production of The Lion King JR.
