It really isn't. It's fine to be mysterious and keep details hidden, but to literally release a character encyclopedia and NOT include names 8 years later (Crying Child) because you want to keep being mysterious is actually absurd (not to mention he can't even be assed to hire a good professional artist for the job jfc...). That's just an example.

And Scott isn't a terrible writer and author but like... He isn't the reason the lore is good atp, it's the fans. He created a good base, but anything deeper than that was all done by the fans
