Send ♕ for a CHILDHOOD headcanon: He is probably the only child in Japan who can honestly say they got a pony for their birthday— specifically a Palomino* mare named Penny. He probably got her around five or so, meaning they kind of grew up together. :V He learned most of the proper horsemanship techniques from riding her since she happened to be an ideal starter horse.
Also he kind of got into English riding because he started mimicking things he read in books (if it was horse related he’d read it.) This is a terrible way to learn and you shouldn’t do it, find a trainer instead.
Send ✿ for a HAPPINESS headcanon: He’s always at his most relaxed when he’s around horses. If you can find him when he’s out working at the stables that’s your best chance to have something approaching a normal conversation with him, but it’s probably going to be about horses because what do you mean horses aren’t the most interesting thing in the history of ever.
Send ღ for a LOVE/SEXUALITY headcanon: He’s never been in a relationship before and has no idea what romantic overtures are supposed to look like (plus he’s convinced nobody could ever like him,) so you’d have to either beat him over the head with hints or outright say you’re interested in him.
I think I’ve mentioned this before, but as a boyfriend he’d be devoted to the point of being clingy. He’s fairly convinced that nobody could ever be interested in him and would need a lot of patience and encouragement.
If you go on a date with him the chances of it involving horseback riding approach 100%.
*If you google Palomino you’ll turn up pictures of horses as well as ponies, this is because Palomino is what’s called a “color breed,” meaning the body type of the horse doesn’t matter at all, it’s whether or not they express the color gene. Speaking of that, the Palomino was allowed into breed registries before equine genetics were well-understood. Technically they don’t fit the dictionary definition of a breed at all in that the Palomino coloration doesn’t breed true. A Palomino/Palomino breeding will only produce a Palomino foal 50% of the time.
