Just discovered that the JLPT got canceled for the third time in my country. If I'm going to be honest, I was both hoping and expecting for a cancelation because of how ridiculously bad things are being handled where I live. I heard about the test proceeding in Japan in December, and apparently the test centers were uncomfortably packed. Just thinking about that makes me sweat.
This obviously derails my plans again, but honestly, it's not like I can leave for Japan anyway because of border control and other travel restrictions. They are literally implementing lockdowns again where I am. Not that it ever stopped in the first place.
On a positive note, this does once again lengthen my time to immerse and really hone in my skills especially for grammar. I'm admittedly an average student and a bad test taker, so any extention I can get with this regard is a bit of a relief. I just feel bad though 'cause I feel like I've been wasting my 20s either feeling sick or avoiding being sick.
Anyway, in other news, I finally encountered the word 宿命 in my immersion while reading Island so I can properly sentence mine it now. Feels weird that I encountered it first in music than anywhere else, but I guess that's a small perk for enjoying Japanese music.
Here's Shukumei from HigeDan, one the the first bands I was really obsessed in after getting into immersion. I was hooked from the moment I heard I Love in the JDrama 恋はつづくよどこまでも.
