i have nostalgia towards my source, but it comes with a very large portion of “thank fuck I’m out of there.”
do i want to sit with my back against the Tree and rest while the dappled shade makes pretty patterns on the grass? of course! do i want to sit side by side with my brother and read together, or play tag, or stare up at the stars? yes!!
…do i want to deal with being ostracized, isolated, harassed, and used as a scapegoat by the village for years on end? absolutely not. even if i was given a chance to go back, i never would. it’s better if that place stays dead.
if i went back, even knowing what i know now, history would repeat itself.
