I am very much unwell about that line in the book where Grace goes like "I hope I wasn’t close friends with either of them. Or, if I was, I hope I don’t remember it." when he sees the dead bodies of his crew. Like. What's that, doctor Grace. Are we trying to dodge the pain. Are we trying to prevent or at least delay the heartbreak. Are we trying to hide our head in the sand (until we can't do it anymore and life forces us to face the horror).
Him being so avoidant and scared of being hurt is so important to me personally, you have no idea.
from some quick math i’ve done based on a snippet i saw from “miss holloween”, it looks like duke was born anywhere from 1980-1986. this means there’s little chance of him appearing in glam and the pentagrams (as he would be anywhere from seven years old to not even a year). and honestly? i’m thrilled. i like holloduke a lot, but i really want miss holloway’s story independent of the romantic aspect brought by duke. besides, i’m sure we’ll be fed plenty in “miss holloween”. it’ll hurt, but that’s kinda the nature of this insane ass town.
every day I edge a tiny bit closer to turning off comments on one of my fics. yeah man, probably it will update someday, since I have parts of the last two chapters written and I often come back to dc, but hush. I haven't wound my way back to the dc fandom for the third (fourth?) time yet.
marlene: forgetting to close off a set of brackets and forever living her life within that one set of brackets, all speech being a sidenote to the main point
dorcas: the fact that eyeballs are spherical and if you pull the skin around your eye you can actually see the curve of a spherical eyeball
mary: putting on socks when your feet are cold but your nails aren't trimmed right and now any contact with them becomes actual hell, and then to make matters worse, you can only find one sock that you know is the only type that can help with this sensory nightmare, and the other has disappeared leaving you in tears
alice: being placed in a situation in which she would have to spell the word "Mediterranean" in front of real life people
lily: starting a list of things and not being able to name the very last thing so you're left with an open-ended "and" or else a comma that certainly does not belong.
