“What a waste, I was trying to enjoy the melody of the flute”

“Nothing, it’s alright, do you need anything from me?”

“Oh? Did you like the song just now?”

“Really? It had a nice tune to it, didn’t it?”

“This flute is something I’ve treasured since a very young age, even though I don’t maintain it that much, the quality of the sound is still good, I guess this is an item that’s really important to me.”

“Eh? You’ve never played a flute before? What a shame, if I lived without playing the flute, my lifetime would just be a waste”

“If you’re interested, why don’t you try? Here you go”

“It’s alright, I welcome anybody who’s interested in music to use it”

“Come on - ah, your posture is totally wrong”

“Not in that direction, you have to place it at the right hand side of your face, like this”

“Then, just blow into this hole, you should be able to make a sound”

“What happened? I caught a wild hare, see?”

“Hehe, since RIkuson hates animals a lot, I thought I’d get him to overcome that fear some day. I managed to catch this hare earlier on, and I wanted to pass this to him”

“Eh? My body? Ah, I’m still feeling a bit feverish but it’s not a big deal. Forget about that, this hare is more important now, so, where’s Rikuson? I need to pass this to him quickly or else-”

“Huh? What? Why can’t I? After I’ve gone through the trouble of catching it. Ah, well, Rikuson has probably left the castle already.. Ah, ah, what a downer, here, Mao, I no longer need it anymore, just release this hare somewhere around here”

“Hm? What’s wrong? Huh? Don’t tell me.. Heh, hehehe, come on, why don’t you carry it?”

“Haha! You’re running away? Hold up Mao! Hey, why are you running away? I didn’t know that you were afraid of animals. Since you’re a cat, isn’t it ridiculous for you to be afraid of other types of animals? Haha, don’t you think so?”

“Oh? I managed to catch up to you, how could you possibly run away from such a cute hare? Heh, it’s not scary at all, try petting it won’t you? If you don’t, I’ll sneak this into your room at night and force you to hug it”

“See? It’s not scary at all isn’t it? Hm, why don’t you pet it around it’s ears? This bunny seems to like being pet there”

“Ah? It closed it’s eyes, how cute. You’re such a timid and good bunny aren’t you?”

“Huh? What? Why are you looking at my face like that? Do I have something on my face?”

“Eh? Have I not smiled in front of you before, Mao? That’s not true isn’t it?”

“Huh? You’re happy to see me smiling so happily? Why are you so happy over that?”

“Mm? Whether I need you to run any errands? Not really, I was speaking to Teifuu earlier on, and I’m just feeling a bit tired”

“It’s such a pain to please everyone, I’m sleepy since I’ve exhausted all my energy doing that”

“You were tidying up the military records? Ah, did I ask you to do that? Good job.”

“Eh? You have nice handwriting don’t you? How convenient”

“Mm? Why are you looking at me like that? Did I do something bad?”

“About what happened last time? Ah, I would rather you apologise for what you did, since you scarred my face. Well, it was sort of interesting, so I’ll forgive you. I’ll really get mad at you the next time you bite me”

“Anyways, lend me your lap. I was thinking of sleeping on my own bed but this room feels a lot more comfortable, so I’ll just stay here”

“Eh? I’m not free, I have a lot of things to settle. But I need to sleep first, I also need to ponder as to when is the next time I can eat grapes”

“What? You want me to help you with all these military records? No way, I’m not feeling well right now”

“I’m telling the truth, I’m not feeling well right now”

“Yeah yeah, I’m incorrigible, I know, why don’t you give up”

“Ah? Mm, it seems like I’ve caught a cold, did you think it was some sort of feigned illness?”

“Anyways, just let me rest like this, this is an order”

“Eh? Teifuu? He’s a senior military officer that absolutely hates me. That person hates me because I’m in a higher position than him despite me being younger. He keeps opposing to everything I propose. Tsk, he seriously gets on my nerves”

“Come on, hold on to the clothes I took off. I’m unable to sleep in peace if I don’t take everything off”

“Also, it’ll be hard for me to carry out my duties if he continues to hate me, that’s why, I’ll just lay low and treat him respectably. But since he’s so stubborn, I don’t think he’s going to change his attitude anytime soon. He’s such a troublesome person isn’t he?”

“Ah, ah, it seems like he was in a good mood today, and since I’m the type that can pull off acts well, he should be able to forgive me later on. I’ll probably have to bear with him for a few more days..”

“Huh? What? I’d appreciate it if you didn’t cut me off”

/coughs/ “It’s so dusty here!”

“Why can’t you clean up when I’m out? You’re pretty dull-witted for a merchant’s daughter aren’t you”

“Are you still not used to me acting like this? You better start somewhere soon, since there’s no way I’m going to talk to you nicely anymore”

/yawns/ “Why don’t you stop cleaning up and help me prepare my bed, I’m feeling very sleepy now”

“No, I slept properly yesterday- but, it takes a toll on your energy when you’re dealing with idiots, that’s why, go get it ready”

“I’m so tired” /coughs/

“Ah god, the dust is flying everywhere, make sure you leave the window open!”

“Everybody’s such an idiot it’s really getting on my nerves, all the people who participated in the military meeting earlier on are all idiots- they can’t even decide on a military tactic properly, oi, you, do something about it”

“/scoffs/ if you can’t do anything about it, then at least tend to me since I’m feeling tired, that’s an attendant’s job as well”

“How? You don’t even know how to deal with these kinds of situations? Alright then, I’ll tell you. To be honest, you’re not even my type, but I guess you’re still bearable, obviously there’s only one method when you’re asked to tend to men”

“Lie down beside me, you’re a woman, you’re obviously expected to provide these kind of service aren’t you? Come here”

“Huh?! ‘Don’t mess around?’ I don’t get you, all the other women are dying to sleep with me and you’re rejecting me? There’s obviously something wrong with you”

/sigh/ “Although it’s true that I chose you to be my attendant since you’re unlikely to fall for me, I didn’t think that you’d reject me completely, but…”

“This is probably the first time I’ve even gotten rejected, even so, is it even normal for people to reject me? I don’t know whether you’re just fearless or whether it’s something else- but I guess it’s hard to find an attendant that’s so stubborn like you”

“Even so, there’s obviously something wrong with your taste in men if you’re no interested in my appearance, it’s worrying me”

“Hm? ’Personality matters more than one’s appearance?’ Yeah, yeah, thank you for your exemplary output”

“It’s getting abit cold in here- it’s because you left the window open, go get me another blanket”

“Eh? You don’t know where to get it from? ..Ah well, I guess that can’t be helped. Why don’t we do it this way, you go inside and warm the bed up for me, hurry up?”

“What? ‘Absolutely not’? You’re terrible, did you really just say that to me?”

“Somehow, you remind me of this cat I used to have- Despite looking as if it’s obedient on the outside, it bared its fangs against me- you’re exactly like that cat. I didn’t really name it, so I just addressed it as ’Mao’”

“Hm, from now on I should address you the same way I addressed that cat”
