perhaps the most absurd thing about the Shyamalan A:tLA movie (that doesn't exist; yeah, yeah) is that he changed the characters' names because... because...
...because the fictional characters' names-- names that are from fictional cultures; names which we never see written down in the Latin alphabet in the entire film or original series, and even if we did see them in writing, they would be in a completely fictional writing system that was invented just for the fictional universe of the story-- those names were fake-romanized/transliterated differently than names from their real-world cultural inspirations usually are.
the most absurd part is that if it really bothered him that much, he could have just changed the spelling in the script and the credits, and literally no one would have cared! Just spell the names Eng, Sakka, and Airoh when you need to write them down, since it never actually comes up in the story! It could've been just a weird little credits moment and a behind-the-scenes factoid and not something that doomed the movie before we even dealt with its many, many other flaws.

my favorite line from Signs is “Excluding the possibility that a female Scandinavian Olympian was running around outside our house last night, what else might be a possibility?”
If Ivy Elizabeth Walker (The Village) was in Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire, would she consider joining the Silent Sisters or becoming a septa?
Yes, out of religious devotion
Yes, to seek forgiveness or atonement for a scandal / shameful act / dishonor
Yes, because her family forced her to take the vows
Yes, to avoid punishment since she’s a criminal/lawbreaker
Yes, to seek safety/refuge from her enemies
Yes, to escape marriage, raising children & patriarchy
Yes, to gain political power/influence through the Faith
Yes, to live a quiet life apart from the world
Yes, for a unique reason I came up with (feel free to share in the comments)
No, she would never voluntarily take the Faith of the Seven vows
No. She’s being punished for her actions & she accepts her original punishment.
