American Kestrel and Mountain Bluebird | Nancy Florence
Truly, inspiration can come from anywhere and for the simplest of reasons.
One day, in sophomore English class, I looked out the window and saw a cardinal and a bluejay in the trees and grass. Something about the sight moved me and I decided to look up the two birds. However, I forgot the word “bluejay” and ended up looking up “bluebird” and the search results changed me. Something about seeing the Eastern Bluebird completely turned my otherwise usual day into the day I discovered my favorite animal ever. It’s such a simple species, but ever since I accidentally looked it up, I absolutely love it. I decided to go into ornithology because of how that moment made me love birds so much. I hope to one day see an Eastern Bluebird in real life.
