Siblings No More

Did I fail as a brother?  Some days I do feel that way, but knowing my sister, that’s how she wants me to think.  Despite our resentments, I still want what’s best for her.  So, if she still wants to forget that she ever had a brother, then I will accept it.  It’s pretty sad, with both of us in our forties now, still fighting like this.  Then I realized, knowing how both my grandmother and mother never got along with their siblings, it must run in our family.

I did my best to keep the family together, but the more I tried, the more painful it became.  I’m not the one to accept any outcome as a result of one’s fate, but maybe this is one of them.  All I know is that I really tried, but now, all I could do is, forget that our past as a brother and sister ever existed.
