Jin goes out on a very cold day and returns home cold and sneezing and his nose starts to run and the members take care of him
Caretakers: Members sans Yoongi, who was left out for a comedic purpose
“Jin-hyung, are you sure you want to buy Odeng’s food now?” Hoseok asked worriedly. “It’s like fifteen degrees out.”
Jin sniffed, staring at Hoseok in disbelief. “Odengie deserves the best food. Plus, we’re running out!”
Jungkook enters the conversation as he heads into the room, probably from a long night of gaming. “Hyung, just stay inside. It’s not worth it. We can play Mario Kart.”
There was a dangerous glint in Jin’s eye. “Odengie is absolutely worth it!”
Hoseok sighed and shook his head. “Jinnie-hyung, you’re going to get sick. It’s too cold out.”
“That’s why hand warmers and scarves exist.” Jin stated, shrugging his jacket around him. “I’ll be back soon, can you get Yoongi to start on dinner?”
“Yoongi went home for the holidays, hyung.” Jungkook said, looking at Jin with an odd expression. “Like, two days ago.”
Jin’s eyes widened in disbelief. “And he didn’t tell me?”
“He did.” Hoseok stated. “Many times.”
“Camping in the living room.” Jungkook stated. “You know, the one where you dragged both mine and Taehyung’s mattresses to the living room and laid them on the floor and put a tent on top of them?”
Jin’s eyes widened and he bit back a grin. That was fun.
“Well,” he started, heading towards the door, “I’m going to leave now. I’ll figure out dinner once I get home. I’ll be back soon.”
“Wait!” Hoseok exclaimed, rummaging around in the closet closest to the front door. “Take gloves at least.”
Jin grinned, pulling the gloves on. “I’ll be back soon, my disappointments!”
He headed out the door into the cold winds of Seoul. He cursed as he tripped over a boot and faceplanted into the snow.
Just a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.
It probably wouldn’t take him too long to walk to the pet store from where the dorms were located, but he was regretting not driving over because it was fucking cold.
He rubbed his gloved hands together and blew into them, attempting to warm them enough to heat his face a little.
Jin sniffled, frowning at how cold his nose felt. He kept walking, though it was starting to flurry now, the snow coming down scarcely but persistently.
The walk wouldn’t be bad if it were forty degrees warmer and he could see more than six feet in front of him and he wasn’t soaking wet from his earlier introduction to the snow on the ground.
He sniffled again, nose numb and definitely red from the cold. Damn, how far was this pet store?
Finally spotting the neon sign in the distance, Jin sighed in relief. He rubbed his nose with the back of his glove, cringing at the wet spot on the back afterwards. He sniffled once more and stepped inside.
“Warmth!” he exclaimed, shaking himself off on the entrance mat in the front of the store. The employee near the front hesitantly welcomed him, staring at him like he was crazy.
After scouring the aisles for Odeng’s food (some bugs!! He usually cut up the fruit himself, courtesy of Hoseok and Jimin’s trips to the grocery store), he finally found the employee from the front (who had moved to a different section) to get the crickets for him. After dropping his wallet and picking it up, only to drop all of his cards on the floor, he paid and then looked out the glass door. It was snowing even harder now, and probably even colder.
“Hwaiting.” he murmured, pumping his fist up in the air, ignoring the glance from the employee who absolutely thought he was crazy at this point.
He exited the warm embrace of the store and went back into the cold, grunting in annoyance when his nose tickled from the cold almost immediately. He was still wet and (almost) wished he had listened to Hoseok.
“HH’IDDSHH!” he sneezed harshly into his elbow, then stood in the middle of the sidewalk in a daze for a hot second.
He shook himself out of his stupor. Right, he needed to get this food to Odengie.
The snowflakes were starting to fall at an alarming rate. If Smart Jin were around, he would have called a cab or their manager or someone to come pick him up so he didn’t have to walk in this bad weather. But it seemed that Smart Jin had gone on vacation and Dumb Jin with the still-pretty face had taken up a part time job while Smart Jin was gone because he didn’t do any of that. He kept walking, despite the wet clothes and the bad weather.
He sneezes again, nearly losing his balance as the sneeze makes him throw his upper half forward. He’s nearly bent over at the waist when he sneezes again and this time, he nearly throws Odeng’s food clear across the sidewalk.
Jin wipes his nose again on the back of his glove, coughing slightly when his throat tickles. Why does it have to be so cold out?
Eventually, he’s about ten feet from the dorms and he can make out Jungkook’s figure cursing and shoveling the snow from the front walkway. He’s not doing it well though. He’s shoveling in front of him and throwing it over his shoulder, which only makes it fall onto where he’s just shoveling, so it’s almost like he hasn’t shoveled at all. The maknae spots him and turns around. “Jin, did you get whatever Odengie needed?”
Ignoring the drop of honorifics, Jin headed inside, Jungkook bounding after him. “Dinner time! Dinner time!”
As Jin walked inside, he saw his dongsaengs tasked with different things. Jimin and Hoseok are cooking, so dinner is probably salvaged. Taehyung is filling glasses with drinks. Namjoon was (presumably) setting the table, but one of the dishes had apparently fallen, and it was in pieces all over the floor.
“Wear shoes!” Jin shouts, then breaks into a coughing fit.
That grabs the attention of the members.
“Hyung?” Jungkook asked. “Are you getting sick?”
Jin sniffles, feeling grossed by the minute. “It’s too cold out.” He pointedly looked at Hoseok. “You were right, I was wrong, blah blah blah.”
The dancer sighs. “Hyung, go lie down. Taehyung will make you some tea.”
“I will?” The second youngest looks up. At all of hyungs’ stares, he shrinks. “Yes I will. It is my dutiful pleasure to craft such fine leaves in water for my esteemed Jin-hyung.”
Before anyone can question what he’s said, Taehyung hurries into the kitchen with Jimin.
“Go put him in bed.” Hoseok orders.
Jin frowns. “I am very well capable of going to bed by myself.”
Although hell, he wants Jungkook’s cuddles because the maknae is like one oversized koala. So he relents, and he lets Jungkook lead him to bed.
