Discover Sick Samurai: The Ultimate Adrenaline-Fueled Slasher
Sick Samurai fast and bloody slasher action game is due to evolve onto Linux and Mac with Windows PC. Thanks to recent details from the creative talents of developer Solideo. Due to make its way onto Steam in 2025.
Solideo is eager to announce their next title, Sick Samurai — an adrenaline-fueled, slasher action that’s all about speed, precision, and non-stop action. Imagine the fast-paced, one hit kill action of Hotline Miami, but with a samurai. While adding in some major retro anime vibes. If you’re a fan of Samurai Champloo or Cowboy Bebop, this is going to feel like a blast from the past. Due to offer its own fresh, stylish spin. And the soundtrack? It’s loaded with lofi beats that mix hip hop, jazz, soul, and funk. All ready to keep that energy flowing as you carve your way through enemies. And, there are even plans for a Sick Samurai native port.
The game is being developed in Unity, so I'm hoping that towards the end of development both a Mac and a Linux version will be as simple as building for those platforms. And getting some users to test that it all works as intended.
It was great to hear from Solideo. They’re upfront about their plans for Linux support, which is expected about a year from now. Makes total sense to take the time needed. But honestly, I can’t wait to get my hands on a native test build.
Sick Samurai - Official Announcement Trailer
In Sick Samurai, each level is hand-crafted to give you more than one way to tackle it. You’ll have multiple paths to explore and different strategies to try out. So you can really play it your way. There’s also a solid upgrade system where you can pick up items and power-ups along the way. Due to let you fine-tune your playstyle.
But don’t expect easy gameplay — this game throws you right into the deep end. Instant-death combat means you’ll die a lot, but the game lets you jump right back in to retry a level. Repetition is part of the challenge here; the dash and slash mechanic is fast and deadly. So you’ll need to master the timing, plan your moves, and keep those reflexes sharp.
Sick Samurai takes place on Furikyu, a fictional island that’s a unique blend of Edo-period Japan with touches of 20th-century urban America. You play as a young fighter determined to become the best warrior on the island. To do that, he seeks out Genyu, an ex-samurai with a bit of a rough past, hoping to train under him. Together, they set off on a mission to challenge the four big-shot samurai who run the island. Each with their own turf and combat style. It’s a deadly journey, and every fight will push you to step up your skills.
Another nice touch is that Sick Samurai has fully voice-acted dialogue. While offering choices that let you influence your relationships with the characters you meet. So, it’s not just about slashing through enemies; there’s a story element too. And you get to shape how it unfolds.
Sick Samurai fast and bloody slasher action is due to release on Linux and Mac with Windows PC. Doing so through Steam in Q4 2025. Therefore keep an eye out if you’re ready for some intense, lofi-fueled samurai slasher action that’s as stylish as it is brutal.
