And thus concludes my multi-chapter Sicktember fic. (Except for maybe a short epilogue with Spock returned to the bridge and everyone sharing a hearty laugh at his expense, then freeze frame. Okay, no, that always bugged me in TOS.)
My deepest gratitude to the loyal readers of this fic. You are a small crew but so loving. Thank you for your thoughtful comments, for coming into my ask box to scream at me (affectionate), for propping me up when I needed it. I’ve left this fic just where I want it. Is it Spirk? Is it merely a deep friendship? Who knows? I set those boys up in bed together, aaaaand scene. However you want to interpret it, whatever you want to imagine, is a valid thing.
I’ve had so much fun writing for Sicktember but karma deemed that I should be sick myself right now, and right before a road trip just to make it more fun. I will be disappearing until mid-October, possibly later. If you’ve made a request, trust me, I’m already feeling guilty about it. But please feel free to drop in and yell at me when the urge strikes.

Hey. Hey, psst. *pushes chapter at you* Sorry about vanishing for a while, I burnt myself out creatively just a little bit and then work stuff and personal life stuff took over and then I started binge watching Discovery and we all know how that turned out, sorry about my blog. Not to say it won’t keep happening.
This chapter is Nurse Chapel and Spock. I love their dynamic but I’ve never shipped them and that’s how the chapter plays out. Just an interlude in Spock’s recovery where he’s forced to accept affection and some TLC. Incorporates several of the Sicktember prompts including “ginger ale and crackers,” “comfort item” and “medication/injection.”
In This Together is a story in progress that will be updated throughout the month of September. New chapters will be posted, uhhh, whenever inspiration strikes and probably not every day.

Of course Spock is feeling well. If he’s too warm, then the problem obviously lies with the ship and not with him. Because he’s feeling well. He always feels well. And Vulcans never lie, remember that.
Kirk tries to find out more about Spock’s illness and is met with frustration everywhere he turns.
