“Jen, India has been screaming and full on squealing for half an hour. We can’t calm her down” I don’t go out really often, not a all actually. And of course, on my only night out, India is absolutely beside herself and looses her shit...typical. My mum duty is a long work shift that I started 2 and a half years ago. The work load has been quite constant since the beginning. The fatigue varies from high to very high and the level of mental exhaustion is pretty much on the regular high. So home, I go back to calm down my little peach. My yearly night out has been cut short so I could go back to my mums’ reality. At first I thought she was just upset I wasn’t around plus a bit of teething but before I know it, it’s 430 in the morning and I’m settling down in a hospital bed with this little baby that just clicked over to a temp of 41.5 with no obvious reason why. I swear sometimes the universe is against me when it comes to attempting a social life. In saying that I would trade a healthy bubba for a night out any day. This poor sick little bean took a turn for the worse today. Yesterday we went to the on call dr, and left with a pain med dosage plan. But something didn't sit right. Why is she in this much pain? Whys her fever so constant? Why is she throwing up? So this afternoon, when she started spiraling down hill again, Ethan and I decided to take Aurora up to Emergency to have her fully looked over. It was a long afternoon and evening. But praise God we got an answer, we have a plan, it's nothing serious and she's on the mend. I can sleep easier tonight knowing we did everything we could and we have an answer. Might be another long night, but I'm ok with that. That's what I'm here for. The great news is it's only up from here. So grateful for the compassion and care of a wonderful nurse, an excellent doctor, and the love and support of family and friends.
