honest munday meme | no longer accepting bc jeanette called my bluff right after this | @sicktomybonesmccoy
1. What would prevent you from following someone?
Ahhhh, a lot honestly. No rules page is the big one, I just....like to know what I’m getting into with people. Also rules are a handy way to spot early red flags, tbh, so.... I’ll totally follow smbd with a “Please let me blacklist political posts, I come here to get away from the real world”-type but tbh I usually block anyone with a “Don’t post politics, s.ocial j.ustice warriors are ruining the RPC”-type rule lmao.
Also: Unnavigable themes, limited character info (especially for OCs). Generally if I can’t find any writing in the first few pages I won’t follow just ’cause then I don’t know what they like to write or how to get rolling with them.
( 3-9 below the cut )
3. What current rp trend do you hate?
Uhhhhh?? All of my buddies being on hiatus, does that count? RIP me.
5. Do you prefer interacting with male muses or female more? Why?
Not really. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
7. What’s your opinion on call out posts?
Mixed — Some people are toxic and I think we all have an obligation to each other and the community at large not to let that leech out and hurt more people. Obviously not everyone making the posts is trustworthy, but taken with that knowledge in mind they can really give everyone the tools they need to make their own informed decisions about who they want to let into their circles and their lives.
That said, people need a light touch I think to detach from their own pain and deep emotion to write a call-out that’s more productive than basically public therapy? And I’ve definitely seen a.busers write “call-out” posts to further isolate victims. So.... I think they’re a useful tool but like anything else, they gotta be used well to live up to their value.
9.What is your opinion on exclusivity? Do you practice it? Why / why not?
It can be intimidating lmao, especially when blogs have a huge ol’ longass list of exclusives. (Or list a multi as “all exclusive, everyone they write,” that kills me. Gotta open a whole other blog to know, and then what if I start writing with them and their pal later opens another version of my muse??)
I do have a handful, though. Generally I only go exclusive if a headcanon we’ve created affects my muse on a deep enough level that I can’t detach it from their worldview and backstory — @llamentablle has been on hiatus for ages, for example, but she’s still my only P.rewett twins for my Alice because their relationship informs a lot of who she grew up to be.
No matter how many boys come and go in Joanna’s life, no matter how many she’s married too or how many dates she goes on, one thing will always remain constant -- She’s always gonna be her Daddy’s little girl. She always going to want to spend time with him, wrap her hands around his little finger, follow him around the Enterprise, find him when she’s crying after a nightmare, tell him all her secrets, and give him the same amount of love she had all those years ago.
Charlie still couldn’t believe that she’d been able to secure a position on the Enterprise. Sure, ship’s dentist wasn’t as competitive as, say, CMO, but it was still an accomplishment. What better time to soak it in than at the newly rebuilt Enterprise’s christening?
Of course, it would help if she wasn’t so overwhelmed by these big parties. As it was, she was surprised she could even stand being in the room with this crowd. Right now she was standing near one of the walls, that way she could make an easy getaway if necessary. However, someone caught her eye, and bolstering all of the courage that she could, she walked over to him.
“Excuse me, are you Doctor McCoy? I’m Doctor Maldonado. I’ll be serving with you aboard the Enterprise.”
She sure hoped she’d spoken to the right person, otherwise this would be awkward.
all the ones where i end up talkin’ bout mental health lmao | accepting!
6 ] do you have ideal writing circumstances when you can do a lot of drafts or tackle really long ones very easily?
Uhhhhh, mania? haha Mostly it’s just that once I manage to actually sit down I’ll almost always write like four or five things in a row, then.....not write for a week. 😬 Then rinse and repeat.
Really, truly, honestly, I just write the most when I’ve got insomnia lmao.
8 ] how does tiredness affect your writing?
Inconsistently. I’ve definitely fallen asleep over my laptop, then woken up with like six words written and then one letter 200 times after that. But if it’s 2am and I’m trying to sleep, oh man, I can write so good then.
17 ] what is your biggest obstacle to writing every day, if time doesn’t count?
Uhhhh, depression? 😬 Uhhhh and I have some pretty bad concentration issues, so there’s a lot of times I sit down and want to write and have the energy to write and........can’t string the words in my head into letters on the screen.

@sicktomybonesmccoy replied to your post “i've been staring at the same form for half an hour, and two hours...”
//this is like... peak coder behaviour. Everyone coding does the exact same thing, it's damn fascinating
so, my class was working on our morning exercises today and the teacher asked if everyone wanted to go over it or to “suffer longer,” and somebody said with sad, exhausted resignation in their voice, “more time....i love to suffer...”
the teacher immediately laughed, “that’s good for web development.”
