Here is my tribute to the Neji fam, who all universally agree, like a hivemind, that his death was a freaking joke, and the way it was handled going forward, was really insensitive. Not to mention, in the grand scheme, it just served no purpose, other than to taunt the Neji fandom, from how his entire death scene felt like a fucking TAUNT. And I am not kidding about this.
Look at this image here.
People claim that, "Neji's Caged Bird Seal disappeared with his death, move the hell on already, nobody cares for him", but you tell me. When you die, that normally means liberation for some, morbid as it sounds, but for someone like Neji, it should have been portrayed as such. And yet, you look at this image up there, and you ask: What about this?
It just doesn't connect, dude. It just comes off as if Kishimoto really regrets creating this character, and just felt like taunting his fans, by pulling this diabolical shit, portraying EVERYTHING about his passing as a joke, considering that he was nowhere to be seen in "The Last", and his death had little to NO fanfare in-universe. This has got to be the most disrespectful death in all of anime, right next to Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen, lowkey. And let's not forget that, Neji died, in the EXACT. SAME. WAY. He was supposed to die the first time around: Getting pierced through the body. This goes BEYOND just being cynical, bro. But I will not go on another tangent about this, you already know how I feel about all this "fate being predetermined" nonsense, I won't continue beating a dead horse here.
And just for context, because not everyone knows about my headcanons, these power-ups that Neji and Hinata get in the video, are related to their Byakugan evolution: The Bankakyō Byakugan. And in that moment, with Hiashi's passing, and the absolute Clear Mind hitting them like a freight train, they basically broke their chains of captivity, and unlocked 100% of their pure dojutsu ability, right then and there.
Neji's Bankakyō Byakugan:
Hinata's Bankakyō Byakugan:
And, the wild felines in the back, are also placed there with a clear purpose: It represents, from which familial branch they truly come from, and they embrace it in pride and vigor.
Neji is from the Side Branch:
Hinata is from the Main Branch:
This is the gist of things.
And by the way, that line that "Neji" said, was actually said by Toshiro from Bleach, considering they have the same English voice actor. Mindblowing, eh?
'K Bye.
