Alastor getting and carrying a furby around for the rest of the chapter delights me to no end. He just has a love for vaguely feral, gremlin creatures. XD

I like how you're sprinkling verbal slips into Angel's dialogue. Because, yeah, just because he's not getting active commands doesn't mean the programming stops running in the background.
Calling it now, that's not Vox at the end. Last shark face to say: "Darlin'" was a loan shark trying to drug Angel. Which... parallels. However, I expect Vox would prefer to watch until swiping Al was a sure thing.
If you're following Season 2's plotline, we're about at the point Al discovers his love for spinny chairs. 😏

The furby's actually possessed by his old shadow and is following them all from a distance (I kid). If this were fully animated like the show, you wouldn't necessarily see Alastor carrying a furby with the group, but one would show up in the background in shots of his room later, much like the roach crown.
That line actually has a dual meaning. The one most people seem to be picking up is what I thought was the subtler one but apparently not XD.
And now you are the second person to suggest that might not be Vox. I shan't say wither way, but what I will say is that I'm looking forward to folks' reactions to the opening of the next chapter.
Vox is going to take one look at Alastor perched in his too-tall demon-sized chair, see those (proportionally) long legs dangling in the air, then just collapse from an overload of cuteness aggression. It'll take every single ounce of his willpower to not just CHOMP!
