     Per usual, his ego was...tiring.

     “Is that so...” If you were only cooking for yourself, why make so much extra, though? The answer eluded her. But Claire was the type to take things at face value, so she listened to him without any doubts. She was blissfully unaware of their shared past, and without intervention from another, it would remain that way. To her, Sirius was as new a presence in her life as the demons. She simply wanted him to act a bit less rough towards her, if she could have such a thing.

     “Well, it’s still good. If you ever make too much again, let me know!”

Not that she has any room to talk, considering that this exact situation is what caused her to end up here in the first place. But in her defense, that storm had came without any warning. This one had made its approach known several hours ago with a clearly visible mass of approaching rainclouds.

But it’s a bit late for that now. She simply steps aside and holds the door open to let him in.

“... Where do you keep your spare towels again? You’ll probably catch a cold if you just let everything air-dry...”

Silently watching Sirius garden, Claire was maybe a little bit hypnotized: hot-headed Sirius seemed so gentle and nice when caring for the plants that he almost seemed like a different man...?

As the man noticed her, Claire straightened her back as if talking to a military officer, putting her hands behind her back in an exaggerated formal pose.

“Oh!! I’m just looking!!” She blurts out, “Juuuust a-lookin’!”

She took a carefuly step forward, then leaned towards Sirius’ direction a bit as if interested.

“I was just interested in the houseplants,” she explained, “Do you know a lot about plant care? I’d love to start a cute little garden back at home! Give me tips!”
