The Nakshatras as Evil Ahh Politicians PART 9: PURVA PHALGUNI, THE GLORYHOUND
Sitting in the heart of sidereal Leo is one especially egotistical lunar mansion: Purva Phalguni.
Located between 13.20 to 26.40 degrees of Leo, Purva Phalguni's name means "The Former Reddish One" or in some translations, "The First Fig Tree." Red harkens back to Rohini nakshatra, which is often referred to as the Red One; this ties together the two nakshatras on a thematic level. Both Purva Phalguni and Rohini are extremely creative and indulgent on the material world. The color Red is used to symbolize passion, love, romance, and anger; these are all traits this nakshatra bestows an excess of upon its natives. Sometimes to an unhealthy, destructive level----which is where evil ahh politicians come in.
Ruled by the deity Bhaga, the Vedic God of Wealth, Marital Bliss and Prosperity, he is one of the twelve Adityas, along with Varuna (Shatabhisha), Mitra (Anuradha), Savitr (Hasta), Pushan (Revati), Tvashtar (Chitra), Aryaman (Uttara Phalguni), Indra (Jyeshtha) and Vishnu (Shravana). The Adityas are sons of Aditi, revered as solar deities.
In the Rigveda Samhita, Bhaga is referred to as "the victorious, fierce Bhaga, the son of Aditi, who is the sustainer of the world, to whom the poor man praising him applies, saying (give me wealth), to whom the opulent prince (addresses the same prayer)." [Rigveda Samhita: a Collection of Ancient Hindu Hymns, Book 05 translation by H.H. Wilson, pg. 108].
Fitting to the description of Bhaga above, Purva Phalguni's shakti (power) is Prajanana Shakti: the Power of Procreation. Bringing a male and female together, the end result is the creation of a fetus. ["Shaktis of the Nakshatras," American Institute of Vedic Studies].
In a modern world, evil ahh politicians of this asterism care way too much about their progeny. Offspring. The cishet men of this asterism, in particular, love to spread their seeds around once they gain significant portions of political power.
A great example of this is Elon Musk, who has Moon in Purva Phalguni:
A staunch pronatalist, he views the decline in birth rates (especially among white people) as a threat to humanity; greater than the threat of climate change. However, he is known for a utilitarian approach with his children, some of whom have grown estranged and publicly call him out on his own fart-smelling antics.
He views his children not as independent beings with their own mind, desires and emotions, but as a stepping stone to his own idea of a perfect human being. Such as disowning Vivian Wilson for being a trans woman, impregnating Neuralink official Shivon Zilis solely to produce intelligent offspring, and colonizing Mars with his own sperm [Symons, "The Radical Deficiency of Elon Musk's Pronatalism"].
It's all rather icky and gross. He even refers to his offspring as Roman legions, naming one of his sons 'Romulus' after the mythological character.
True to the essence of sidereal Leo, Purva Phalguni evil ahh politicians tend to have GIANT EGOS. Egos bigger than the landmass of Texas. The world is a stage; these politicians are literally incapable of compromise or basic niceties towards anyone they view as inferior.
Such as King Henry VIII of England, who had ASC in Purva Phalguni:
King Henry VIII of England's obsession with fathering a son led to the divorce of his first wife, Catherine of Aragon and the EXECUTION of his second wife: Anne Boleyn. When he finally got his son and heir, his third wive died shortly after.
True to this nakshatra's 'wealthy', expansive nature, he pursued multiple wives and mistresses in his lifetime. One of those mistresses included the glory of war.
Purva Phalguni's expansiveness leads to the mindset of the Gloryhound: starting pointless, stupid, expensive wars for the sake of some ephemeral glory. He tried and failed to overthrow the King of France in 1512, all for the sake of the pursuit of glory.
Y'all know that stereotype of the hedonistic, indulgent King with too much wealth to spill? Yeah, that is a Purva Phalguni archetype. Dressed in gold and silver, the Venetian ambassador Sebastian Giustinian described him as 'the best-dressed sovereign in the world: his robes are the richest and most superb that can be imagined.' ["Henry VIII, Terrible Tudor?", Hampton Court Palace].
Unsurprisingly enough, a significant portion of his wealth was built upon the destruction and closure of monasteries across England. His religious policies were highly unpopular among his constituents; but then again, monarchs aren't known for listening to them. His development of the English Navy helped fuel colonialism. Overall, his reign was both controversial and mixed in reception.
However, we have yet to see the apex of Purva Phalguni manifested in the world. That title belongs to....
THE SUN KING HIMSELF, King Louis XIV of France, who had Sun in Purva Phalguni:
The guy who titled himself 'The Sun King' having domicile Sun in Leo...just. I-damn, sometimes astrology really is that direct.
King Louis XIV of France had the longest reign of any European monarch. I might write a more in-depth article on him because he is an extremely interesting historical figure to discuss (and I don't think that Versailles show was able to capture the sheer charisma he had irl).
But he was an awful person. We often hear about his patronage of the arts and how he centralized the French state, dalliances with mistresses, and subduing the influence of the nobles by forcing them to suck up to his ass in Versailles, his gloryhound tendencies are not mentioned as much. Probably because it makes people feel uncomfortable that he was a literal colonialist.
Louis XIV saw the pursuit of glory through military action as the prime responsibility of a ruler ("The Reign of Louis XIV (1643-1715): An Overview," University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences). As a result, he spent copious amounts of money into starting wars, many of which resulted in minor victories at best and failures at worst. By the end of his reign, his pursuit of glory had nearly bankrupted France.
It did not help that he was a total asshole to the lower classes. His revocation of the Edict of Nantes resulted in the persecution of French Protestants; one-third of whom emigrated from France to escape persecution. According to the University of Kentucky, "Louis XIV distrusted the lower classes, viewing them as a potential source of disorder. He created large hospices where beggars, orphans, criminals, and the insane were forcibly locked up under tight supervision."
A modern-day 'gloryhound' figure of this Purva Phalguni archetype, is none other than....former U.S. President, Lyndon B. Johnson, who likely had Moon in Purva Phalguni:
Ascending to the presidency after JFK's assassination (who also had Moon in Purva Phalguni; neither of them were fond of the other), Lyndon B. Johnson was a ruthless, ambitious man who was obsessed with being the greatest President in American society.
The craziest thing is...he actually could have been the greatest U.S. President with some of the achievements he was able to execute during his terms: the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which outlawed segregation and discrimination (forever transforming American society), his Great Society initiatives; fighting against poverty, supporting environmental protections and several Civil Rights acts such as the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Civil Rights Act of 1968 along with appointing the first African American Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and the first African American cabinet member, Robert Weaver ["Lyndon B. Johnson," the LBJ Library].
However, the end of his Presidential reign rendered LBJ unpopular due to his drastic escalation of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, in an attempt to curb the rise of Ho Chi Minh and communism within the country. By the end of 1967, there were 500,000 American troops in Vietnam. ["Lyndon B. Johnson: Collapse," Santa Clara University].
Here is a documentary on the Vietnam War in the context of the Cold War:
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
LBJ's escalation allowed for the numerous war crimes and atrocities committed by U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War, even after he grew to regret his actions and campaigning for peace at the latter end of his life.
In conclusion: Can Purva Phalguni men just stop?
Leo Risings naturally attract a lot of jealousy because they have an inherent confidence in themselves that others have to work for. This isn’t to say they don’t have insecurities or fears, because they do. Just that they are very good at hiding it. They lead with their opinions, their unique style and aren’t afraid to show off their skillsets. Where others hesitate, Leo Rising just goes for it and trusts what is meant to be theirs eventually will be.

Magha’s throne & ancestor connection
Magha 00°00′ to 13°20′ degrees Leo
The nakshatra of magha, ruled by ketu (spirituality, detachment, liberation, and karma) is represented by the throne; symbolizing royalty, authority, power, and connection to one’s ancestors. The name magha means “The Mighty” or “The Great Ones.” Magha natives are known to obtain power and fame in their respected profession often being known as the “king” or “queen.” These natives are known to standout from others. No matter if it’s their style, mannerisms, etc as it is located completely in the sign of Leo. The sun influence making them outshine all.
Michael Jackson, known as “the king of pop” is seen sitting on a throne in his performance for Slave to the rhythm. Michael gives nods to the past and tradition in his “Remember the time music video” taking place in ancient Egypt, as he was summoned by the pharaoh to entertain Queen Nefertari.
Megan thee stallion just released a sponsorship with Pepsi with her wearing all gold royal clothing, a crown, and sitting on a throne. She has moon in Magha.
In the past she also did something similar with a a photoshoot with Revlon.
This can also extend to other ketu ruled nakshatras. Nicki Minaj being called “The Queen of rap” has Venus, Mercury, & ketu in Mula.
Nicki Minaj in her music video for “Ganja Burn”
Ganja/marijuana= connecting with ancestors, detachment. Smoking especially cigars and tobacco, has long been connected to spirituality and ancestors worship. Many cultures in South Africa for example use tobacco and “snuff” so they can be guided by ancestral spirits. That is why they are sometimes given as offerings. If you think about it, the detached feeling from smoking can be linked to Ketu. The headless demon, disconnected and removed from it’s senses. I can argue that you will see a lot of Ketu nakshatra natives into smoking, or was at some point.
Also, Leo rashis as well can be labeled as the king, queen, or trendsetter of their field. Beyoncé is known as “Queen bee” & “ Queen of pop” she has Purva Phalguni sun.
Pt 2 on Magha coming soon…
I reached my image limit lol
I’ve always felt like men with virgo and leo placements love women who are mean and hard to please.
Yesterday, a Virgo man said he loves solving problems when we were talking. The conversation was not about romance or in regards to women but it makes me think that maybe they subconsciously feel this way about relationships too.
If the woman is never happy or pleased, the man is constantly trying to fix something or try to make things better to appease her. And he enjoys it in a weird way but sometimes can feel kind of compelled like he has no choice. But it’s probably because the woman may be out of the man’s league in some way; most times physically.
I think that a lot of times this dynamic can play out to be unhealthy and toxic.
But i think that when the woman is not mean but stern, it can be healthy.
Writing this has made me think about Claire nakti’s video about Uttara Phalguni which spans between both Leo and Virgo. She talked about its relation to “poor boy-rich girl romance” and how the street rat(Uttara phalguni) often falls in love with women who come from a higher status than them.
I personally feel like this can include both social and financial status.
