The Astrology of Drake and Iceman
Someone get this man an astrologer…
The astrology around Drake shows that this was really not the best time to drop Iceman or any album. He clearly had a lot to sit with especially with the Kendrick Lamar feud and the lawsuit he embroiled himself in but last year would’ve been a more favorable time astrologically to release music.
Currently, Drake is experiencing Ketu in Magha starting to conjoin his Magha ascendant. Ketu transits can be a make or break scenario because it requires a certain thoughtless authenticity to survive. In Magha nakshatra, a Ketu ruled nakshatra in the sidereal Leo sign, his place in pop culture is definitely being tested especially as he is arguably the most successful male pop-rap star of this century. His album would have faired better with more streamlined thoughts about what he’s experiencing without ego being attached to it. It needed him to try different approaches to his music that he never had before to show that he is indeed that musical genius that wasn’t dependent on peers or the public’s adoration.
In other words, Iceman needed to be the album to show Drake’s genuine love for music and its evolution, not something to appease the public. Ketu has been transiting Leo for nearly a year and a half now but it started transiting the Magha nakshatra in March 2026. He should’ve dropped the album when Ketu was in the middle of transiting Purva Phalguni. He would’ve had a more enjoyable time with experimentation and he would have less distractions but in that time, he was busy going back and forth in the court room which cost him some goodwill with the public.
Jupiter is also transiting sidereal Gemini until June 2026. Right now, Jupiter is in Punarvasu nakshatra, the star of renewal. Drake’s natal moon is in sidereal Gemini in Ardra nakshatra. Jupiter was conjoined his moon in Summer 2025. Instead of releasing music, Drake was touring, recording, and mostly keeping out of the public eye. Had he released his album around that time, he would’ve seen significant success and a sense of real connection and understanding from the fans post-feud. Ketu was also far away from his ascendant at that time so even if the music wasn’t wholeheartedly authentic, it still would have made a great impact as it usually does.
Drake has Saturn in sidereal Pisces transiting his 8th house, which shows why his lawsuits were not as fruitful as he expected it to be. The 8th house rules over the resources he gets from others. He sued his label, UMG, stating that they favored Kendrick Lamar, another UMG artist, more than him during the feud by artificially manipulating the numbers around the diss tracks Lamar released. The lawsuit was thrown out with a lack of legal support behind his claims and it soured his relationship with his record label, with whom he had recently signed a nearly half a billion dollar contract with. Releasing Iceman and the other albums after this outcome limited the resources he could have had at his disposal without the legal battles especially promotionally. I would not be surprised if there was not a single song that could dominate the cultural landscape from these projects compared to previous Drake albums.
Lastly, Drake has Rahu in Aquarius in Shatabhisha nakshatra transiting his 7th house. Now is the time for Drake to clean house of any deceptive characters around him because they could cost him everything. Iceman and the other projects would have been better if he went feature less for a change. For example, I saw there was discourse around him including Future in the project when Future was also apart of the diss record that ignited the Kendrick Lamar feud, Like That. He has many peers, friends, and collaborators who are steering him in directions he doesn’t need to go or may have outgrown. While Rahu continues to make this transit, he could be forcing these relationships for some sort of material gain but they will cost him far more in reputational sense. He should practice discernment in this time and reflect on what his future will look like in terms of friendships, family, and work colleagues.
All in all, Iceman came out in a played out time for Drake. He should anticipate the backlash from that but not run further from internal growth as he appears to be doing. The more he sits with what’s wrong, the more he’ll discern what’s right for his life and career.
