The Siderians (Northern horse-sized felines) Morthian (blue point) and his mother Vivanna (brown). He is comforting his mother after his father Stian had been shot. Stian's spirit is still there, in the mountains roaming the Northern Fjordlands.

I've missed these Siderian (Northern horse-sized cats) life snapshots and I've missed Vivanna...so I thought...why not give her a special piece. Vivanna comes across as shy, particularly as an adult - but that's not really what she is. She was quite an extroverted and bold cub and when she's hunting, her brave and determined nature really shows.

That's also one of the things that attracted her mate Stian so much; she took down prey that is usually only hunted by male Siderians. I get the impression that there is quite a lot to her that I have yet to discover. Maybe she will reveal more eventually

The pose and an idea of the background is based on a photo of a lioness but I've changed the background into something snowy, so this could be in spring when the top layer of the lakes are beginning to melt, but there is still quite some snow.

I’ve been exploring Darkness a lot lately and one of those Siderians (northern horse-sized big cats) who carries a very strong ‘Darkness Signature’ – was Stállo Sætansen.

I generally know him as a warm and friendly guy who is approachable and caring. He is quite an introvert who doesn’t demand much attention - he's not very dominant and likes to stay in the background. But he can also enjoy some social time. However, there is a Darkness to him that is deeply hidden in his soul. This Darkness strikes me as cosmic, mysterious, chaotic and Demonic. As I got to know him a bit better, I tried to find this deep Dark layer in him and the soundtrack from Interstellar helped a lot. It feels like his Darkness translated into music. I had seen him in a more astral setting once where he was a deep black shadow surrounded by mysterious white mist- which emphasized the black around him. Quite like in this drawing (which doesn't feature him, but rather his ancestor Sáveron, his soul brother Håkan and another close relative...Stian). However, I had also began to explore other (cosmic) elements and it didn’t take me long to think about the black hole.I don’t associate him with the massive gravity but rather with the Event Horizon: that strange place where planes of existence merge or diverge…who knows. I associate it with chaos, the unknown, where worlds become one and…maybe more. His Darkness feels unfathomable, overwhelming, intimidating and...I think I lack the words. The music linked below and this drawing get it much better than my words.  I have also discovered a lot more regarding the history and identity of his soul. Maybe I tell more about this later. Maybe not.

I’m coming back from a period of little online activity... Still not sure how much art I can keep up…but I had been working on this one for a while. It’s kind of a gift to my dear friend River/Raavihttps://www.deviantart.com/riverraven

This drawing features River’s husband Peter in Siderian form (top left), Falkner (top right), Yava (bottom left) and River (also goes by the name Raavi – bottom right). River and I had said for a long time that Peter and Falkner have a lot in common and that they could have been good friends.

Sadly, Peter passed away in October 2020 and as River and I had exchanged some photos, I found one in which River and Peter were at a concert with River's sister and her husband. This was such a lively portrait of them four that I thought to draw River and Peter in the same way, but now accompanied by their ‘equivalents’ – meaning Falkner for Peter and Yava for River.

The portrait didn’t come out exactly the way I wanted it as it became more detailed than I had planned and I struggled a bit with the light and background. In the end I decided to make it look more like a dream kind of setting.

For those who don’t know it yet: Siderians are northern horse-sized big cats.
