Okay im literally just gonna transcribe my notes, which @romanticsanders​ got the… lets go with a nice sarcastic pleasure of viewing at the peak of my writer’s adrenaline:

It’s a very dystopian AU, about what is essentially a juvenile detention center, situated firmly in the middle of an absolutely ancient Catholic church, called Burkhaust (dream-me gave me that name, and it apparently is a German and arguably Catholic name, so yay dream-me!)

It’s a “rehabilitation center” (yeah, right) for ‘troubled teens’, and it’s known as the best in the country

Teens are reported to the center by teachers or parents/guardians if they’re ‘troublemakers’, or endanger themselves/others; after a while, Burkhaust started raiding schools with a high number of troubled teens instead of waiting for reports for specific students.

Now, because that’s obviously problematic and didn’t make the parents of innocent children very happy, Burkhaust made a policy: if a student was falsely instated into the center, and if their parents pursued the case, they only had to stay for 3 weeks (the supposed minimum amount of time it took to process a kid’s record to check for qualifying misdemeanors)

If a student’s parents did not pursue the case, or their records came up with qualifying misdemeanors, they remained in the center until deemed “rehabilitated”

It’s a Catholic detention center (and I am not speaking for the entirety of Catholicism here) but those, at least in fics, tend to translate as abusive and highly regimented, and this one’s no exception - but there will also be mental health addressed in this one, so it will not be abuse for the angst alone and solved completely with love, because Lexi don’t play that game

It’s a school, essentially, with strict rules and schedules and “discipline” 

Roman Kensington-Affini is a sixteen year old, as is the average age for kids in the program, who was falsely instated into the center for unknown reasons. His best-friend-surrogate-brother-Remy’s mom, who is technically his legal guardian (and who is extremely neurotic and helicopter-mom-ish, but more on that later) pursues the case, and Roman is set to be released in 3 long, frustrating weeks

Patton Rescorla was in math class when a raid occurred at his K-12 school (to clarify, although I’m sure most people know, K-12 just means the school includes kids from Kindergarten all the way to 12th graders); he has no misdemeanors on his record, but he’s caught trying to hide a younger kid in a closet as a guard kicks the door down. He’s apprehended, but the younger kid, his cousin Missy, is let off unscathed.

Virgil Connolly was reported by his father after Virgil punched him - what his father left out was that he swung first. His father gets the benefit of the doubt, and Virgil is apprehended and brought to the center.

Logan Berry is an enigma; he rarely speaks, but the others (who become his roommates as they accumulate in the center) eventually find out that he was reported by his mom when she suspected him to be gay. His father tried to pursue as a false instate case, but he’s not the legal guardian, and it accomplishes nothing. Logan remains at the center until further notice.

Remy Affini and Emile Picani are Roman’s best friends - Remy is hellbent on getting Ro out, and Emile is determined to expose the detrimental tactics used at Burkhaust.

When Remy’s mom finds out about Remy and Emile’s visits to the center late at night to talk to Roman at his dorm window, she locks Remy in his room, claiming the nuns at Burkhaust would release Roman when it was his time to be released; Em helps him escape, and they head to the center immediately with fire in their eyes.

This is totally a Prinxiety/Logicality/Remile(?) story with LOTSSSSS of angst

I don’t know if headcanons/theories count as content but I noticed something and thought I’d bring it up before the sides content week is over so:

Remember this scene for becoming a cartoon? Well I feel like this was eluding to another cartoon trope: The one where a character that has glasses instantly goes blind without them! The only example I can say for sure was Velma from Scooby Doo ((all the renditions)) and maybe Johnny Bravo as well? Not too sure about that but yeah!!

Sides Pokemon trainer AU

Hi!! I’ve been working on the concept of a Pokemon trainer AU for quite some time now and saw the sander sides content week rolling around and decided to bring it up now.

So! The main idea is that Virgil, Roman, Logan and Patton all meet and study in the trainers school and become friends. Then on their final day they realise they’re all going to be taking completely different paths as trainers and promise to meet up as adults, talk about their adventures and battle.

Designs and teams and such under the cut since there’s alot.

Roman: 

Roman ends up becoming a contest star, where the focus is more on performance than battling and so the princely outfit on the left is his performance outfit ((and it honestly fit in so well considering how extra the contest outfits are)). The outfit on the right is a more ‘normal’ everyday outfit. I got some help with the design on that one from @jughead-is-canonically-aroace

His team consists of: 

Primarina ((his starter being a popplio))

Doublade

Nidoqueen

Wigglytuff

Rapidash

and Gardevoir

His team is the least balanced as he rarely needs to focus on battle strategy and more so on contest strategy. I’ll go more into detail on the designs and teams for each of them on separate posts.

Logan:

Logan ends up studying pokemon and becomes a researcher! His design has a much more pokemon-esque feel to it because he works under a corporation with multiple teams and such so that’s his uniform but he also has his own team and trains up his own pokemon. 

His main team consists of: 

Blaziken ((His starter being torchic))

Vikavolt

Metagross

Kingdra

Alolan Muk

and Whimsicott 

He has plenty of different pokemon and his built up multiple teams but this is the one he grew up with and so uses this one while visiting the others. His team is much more varied and strategy focused.

Patton: 

Patton, the one who brings them all together, goes on to work at a pokemon daycare center but tends to train on the side too! He’s got a couple more outfits however I’ll go more on that on his post. 

His team:

and Oricorio Pom-Pom style

I centered his team around pokemon that i found fitting but also pokemon that are generally strong as Patton would definitely not battle with pokemon that could faint easily because he cares way too much. In fact he has a lot of pokemon as well, like Logan, but doesn’t battle with any of them other than his main party. 

Virgil:

Virgil’s a little different than the others in that he doesn’t have a set goal or a job he picked apart from being a trainer so he ended up becoming a veteran trainer and traveling to a good few regions, never truly settling like the others had. Also if it’s unclear with how i drew him, he’s supposed to have winged liner and a beanie.

His team:

Pangoro

Aegislash 

and a bonus little pokemon he carries around but can’t technically battle with since it would be illegal

The team is designed around strategy with a strong focus on defence, making sure his pokemon are safe before attacking.

And that’s it for now! I have a bunch of story ideas and such and will definitely expand upon this in the future!! I have the movesets and abilities and such already decided but like I said, those will be separate posts. I’ve also even got an idea for a team for Deceit but that will be later as well. If anyone’s got any ideas or constructive criticism i’m all for it!!

Also if anyone’s wondering about the slightly differing styles, my style seems to be evolving at the moment as I keep experimenting so sorry if that’s a bit confusing!!

Bruised Ego

I’m always too nervous to post my content but in honor of Sides Content Week, I’m posting a fic I’ve had sitting in my docs for forever based on this post 

Warnings: Roman is very hurt, and it gets pretty angsty (Let me know if I need to add more)

Roman winced as he prepared to film the new Sanders Sides video. Every movement hurt, his body felt like it was all one big bruise. He tried to cover as many bruises as he could with his clothes and makeup, but he still worried the other sides would soon start to see through his facade. Normally the bruises would have begun to fade by now, but instead they all felt fresh, with more being added every day. But nobody could know how weak he was. Nobody could know how much their comments physically hurt him. He had to be strong, he had to be brave, he had to be flawless. If the others found out about how fragile he actually was, Roman was sure they’d pity him, or worse, turn on him.

“Roman, time to work on the video!” Thomas called, echoing through Roman’s room. Roman gave himself one last glance over to make sure everything was as covered as it was going to get before bracing himself and sinking down, only to rise up in Thomas’s living room with a painful flourish.

“You called?” Roman asked.

“Yes, yes, let’s just get on with this,” Logan brushed Roman off. “I have some very important business I would like to complete, so I’d like to get this nonsense over with.”  Roman flinched as another bruise formed on his wrist. He’d worked hard on the script for this video, but apparently, Logan couldn’t appreciate that.

“Oh come on, this should be fun!” Patton protested, soothing the ache a bit. “Things have been so serious lately, we could use a silly little video to cheer us up!” A dull throb took residence in Roman’s other wrist. How could Patton just call all of Roman’s hard work “silly”? And this wasn’t supposed to be just a “little video”, it was supposed to be a masterpiece!

“I’m gonna have to agree with Logan on this one,” Virgil spoke up, flipping through the script. “ This seems kind of stupid.” A sharp twist of pain in Roman’s gut was the last straw, bringing him to his knees from the pain.

“Roman!” Thomas shouted, dropping to his knees beside the creative side. “What’s wrong?”

“Are you okay kiddo?” Patton asked rushing over to them, and examining Roman closely. He went to gently pry Roman’s arm away from his side so they could try to get a better look at what was wrong, but he gripped the fresh bruise from Logan’s earlier comment and caused Roman to let out a gasp of pain. Patton flinched back.

“Roman,” Logan prompted cautiously. “It appears that you are in a great deal of pain. If you can tell us where it hurts, perhaps we can help.”

“Everywhere,” Roman gasped out. “Everything hurts.”

Patton was frowning down at his fingers. “Roman… why was there makeup on your wrist kiddo?”

Thomas rolled up Roman’s sleeves to reveal the bruises that littered his arms.

“What the hell happened to you?” Virgil asked.

“Perhaps we should focus on treating Roman’s injuries first, and then when he’s more comfortable he can explain how he acquired them,” Logan suggested.

“You can’t treat them,” Roman explained through gritted teeth, struggling to stand back up. “I just have to deal with it. I was taken by surprise, that’s all. I’m good now. I can continue the video.”

“Princey, you’re not good. You’re covered in bruises.” Virgil retorted sharply.

“There has to be something we can do, right guys?” Thomas asked, looking around worriedly at the other sides.

“They’re simply part of my job,” Roman explained to everybody reluctantly. “And there’s quite literally nothing you can do to help. Everytime Thomas or I are hurt by a careless comment, or an insult, it manifests itself as a physical injury somewhere on my body. And when either of us receives a genuine, unprompted compliment, they start to heal a bit.”

“Oh, Roman,” Patton sighed worriedly.

“Well, then, the solution is simple, we just have to list the things we appreciate about Roman,” Logan stated.

“What part of ‘unprompted’ don’t you get?” Roman snapped. “There’s nothing you can do to help so why don’t we just focus on the video?”

“I must admit, I do admire your resilience,” Logan said with a glint of amusement in his eyes. The pain in Roman’s gut began to subside, and he could breathe a bit easier, though he was braced for the slight that would inevitably follow. “I still believe that you are more important than the video at the moment though.” The pain in Roman’s gut vanished altogether, allowing him to stand up straight, though he still had to be mindful of the bruises on his torso.

Virgil was flipping through the script again, and he looked up at Roman. “Y’know, I might not like the overall idea personally, but you’ve got a lot of good jokes in here. The viewers will love it.” Roman smiled weakly as a bruise faded away.

“I thought the idea looked really fun!” Patton pouted, “I always love Roman’s ideas for the videos!” A few more bruises faded. Roman finally caught on to what they were doing and laughed.

“You guys are ridiculous,” he said, shaking his head fondly. “You realize this is going to take forever, right?”

“Yes, well, I can’t speak for the others, but I am more than willing to stay here for as long as it takes. After all, we can’t have the best actor of us all out of commission.” Logan spoke with a sly grin, warming Roman’s heart, and causing a few more bruises to fade.

“Yeah, creativity is kind of important for YouTube,” Thomas reminded him, causing a handful of bruises to fade away. “I’d hate to see what I’d be like if you couldn’t work.”

“Quite frankly Thomas, you’d be a mess without Roman” Logan stated, causing the last of the bruises on Roman’s arms to fade. “You rely on him for everyday problem solving in addition to the YouTube videos. Each one of us plays an important role in your ability to function, and should any of us be out of commission for any reason, it could be a disaster.”

“Yeah, plus, I mean,  what was that chart you showed us before Logan? In my room?” Virgil asked.

“The Yerkes-Dodson Curve?” Logan asked.

“Yeah, that,” Virgil snapped his fingers, pointing at Logan. “Roman helps pull you back to a more stable point on that Yerkes-Dodson thing by fighting your inner demons and whatever.” Roman felt a lot more bruises fade on his torso, but he had to speak up here. Virgil’s remark didn’t feel quite true to Roman.

“I haven’t been doing a very good job of that lately though,” Roman pointed out. “I let my own weaknesses,” Roman gestured vaguely to his body, “stand in the way of Thomas’s well being, and I’m sorry.”

“You’re not weak!” Patton protested. “You’re the strongest person I know, kiddo! None of us could have handled that alone for so long, and the fact that you were able to push through it for Thomas’s sake shows just how strong you are!” The last of Roman’s bruises faded and he gave the others the first genuine smile he’d had in a long time.

“Yes well, I would like to point out ,Roman, that you should not make a habit of dealing with these things alone. In the future, it would be advisable to let us know if we’ve hurt you. We all…” Logan made a strangled face, “…care about you, and we would not want you to suffer by yourself like this again.”  

“I’ll keep that in mind,” Roman told them. “Now how about we get back to that video?”

“I think it’s been a long day for everyone,” Thomas replied, shaking his head. “Why don’t we call it day and reschedule for tomorrow?”

“But-” Roman protested.

“No buts,” Patton cut in. “You’ve been hurting for a long time kiddo, let us take care of you tonight, okay?” Patton pulled Roman in for a hug.

“Okay,” Roman agreed, relaxing into the hug as Logan placed a hand on his back gently and Virgil smiled at him over Patton’s shoulder. “That sounds nice.” He turned to Thomas, who gave him a thumbs up, and he chuckled, allowing himself to relax with his family for the first time in months.   “That sounds really nice.”
