Sidney dreams of the fateful night her best friend and lover died (again), and she finally doesn’t let herself watch Tatum die again.
Sidney shifted when she stepped out of Dewey’s car. Tatum walked around and joined her in watching the kids run around Stu’s house.
The recent murders and attacks in her mind made this feel weird…had she been here before?
“C’mon, Sid; let’s get inside.”
“Tatum, I know what this is.” She scratched her arm anxiously.
“What’s wrong, Sidney?”
“I don’t wanna go inside.” She looked at tatum, tears welling up in her eyes. “I don’t wanna see you die again. I don’t want that.” Sidney knew this was a dream, and that if she went inside it would become a PTSD induced nightmare recounting the horrific night that she couldn’t get out of her head.
“…It’s already happened, you can’t really stop it.” Dream Tatum took her arms, pulling away from the view of the house.
Tatum’s hand found a resting place on Sidney’s face as she pulled her in for a quick kiss.
“We can leave. You don’t have to suffer forever. Just remember me for the good things…like last weekend.” She slightly teased her.
“I don’t wanna leave. I don’t wanna leave you again.” She pressed her forehead to Tatum’s, eyes closed.
“You have to wake up eventually, Sid,” She sighed. “You can stay for a couple more minutes…” Tatum decided after a moment of silence.
“I know. I will.” Sidney took a deep breath.
Both girls sat down on the ground. Not long after Sidney leaned into Tatum, savoring even the idea of being able to feel her right next to her again.
“You can’t keep yourself feeling like this forever. You didn’t leave me, Sidney, I left you; and even then, It’s not your fault. It’s Billy and Stu’s for being a dick.” Tatum grabbed Sidney’s face and pulled her close to her face.
“Please, remember me like this.” She peppered multiple kisses to her face. Sidney couldn’t help but giggle slightly.
“I’ll see you again. I promise.” Sidney stood up, brushing her shirt down. Tatum followed her lead.
“Wanna go home, then?”
“Of course.”
They took eachothers hand and started up the road back to the Riley house.
