Today we had a patch of sunshine at work! We had dog training earlier and Sif was so good. My trainer made food and put it on a low table, and Sif left it alone as we walked around the table. She stayed by my side while I sat at the table even with an insane amount of distractions. We were told that we’re going to start training for our Public Access test at the end of July. This is the face of the sweet girl who has started tasking almost all the time. It’s only the one task that we’ve been working on (bouncing anxiety; next is deep pressure therapy) but she’s started doing it everywhere, without me realizing I’m doing the leg bouncing. Today she got up from her nap, looked at me, and got up to do her task even though she’s technically not on duty right now. Today she tasked without the promise of a treat or nudging! We were waiting in the lobby to see my med doc and I didn’t realize I was anxious and bouncing my leg. Sif jumped up and alerted me, and stayed with her paws on my leg until I stopped bouncing. She did this several more times and I gave her a treat. I’m so happy!
