The shooting in Newtown was absolutely heartbreaking. Such a tragic incident to so many children. 

The people being killed every day in Palestine is heartbreaking too. And Syria. And Afghanistan. And Pakistan. And everywhere. Anywhere a person is killed, it's tragic. I can't understand how a person can just take away another person's life for no reason. It's terrible how these days, we hear about deaths so much that we almost brush it away. Have we - I - become so heartless that these things don't bother us anymore?

May Allah have mercy on the children and the Muslims being killed all over the world.

i feel like such a lousy friend.

when we were in Makkah my mom wanted to take me shopping for gifts and stuff. i hate shopping. so whenever we went i would be grumbling and stuff. my mom told me, buy some things for your classmates, you never have a chance to show your appreciation for them and here is your chance, and anyways everything's cheaper here. so i went with her, looking for stuff... there were 10-riyal hjabs (about $3) that were really nice but i'd have to find 24, there was a 3-riyal store (less than a dollar) but i didn't know what to get.... i don't know if it was actually hard for me to find stuff or if i was just being lazy. so i just got everyone these date things. and then they did all these amazing things and my mom's telling me i should have bought them stuff to show that i appreciate them, and she's making me feel so guilty. i feel so bad... i'm such a terrible person.
