I'm reading The Sunlit Man and last night I dreamt that Sigzil, on one of his journeys, found a penguin and took it home. I dreamt of a specific frame so I drew it:

I'm tired of being told that murder is "mean" and "unproductive". Nobody ever holds these standards against my uncle. It's clear: when men murder all their enemies in duels, the world accepts it; when women peacefully remove political threats from the world via assassination, they are faced with outrage. I won't tolerate it. Almighty forbid women do anything.

Notice how this thread is only concerned with Alethi victims of prejudice and never considers how murderers outside of Alethkar are treated. Typical Alethicentrism.

I feel like something this fandom sleeps on about the Skybreakers is that for their third ideal they can chose to follow any belief system. Like, there is so much potential in that which I feel gets overlooked.
Like I get it. They are mostly portrayed as Roshar’s cops and everyone hates them for that. (Which is valid as hell btw ACAB). But just take one second with me to consider the other possibilities.
A philosopher who becomes a skybreaker and follows one particular philosophy like Utillitarianism or consequentialism or Deontology.
A knight or bodyguard who becomes a skybreaker and swears to obey their one charge. (I know Seth basically did this but I feel like with different characters that relationship could be a romantic tension gold mine)
A thief with some kind of thief’s code who uses that as a Skybreaker ideal. Real honor among thieves Robin Hood type shit.
Finally, what about a skybreaker who uses another Radiant order’s philosophy as their skybreaker ideal. This is what I headcannon Sigzil did until it’s proven otherwise. A skybreaker who has sworn to follow the philosophy of a Windrunner or edgedancer or something.
Idk, I feel like there is so much potential behind this order if you don’t feel like you have to stick with how Nale’s order is characterised. They can be so much more interesting than just cops.
Kaladin’s frustration with the members of Bridge 4 in WoK really hits differently when you focus on the fact that he was inadvertently doping the whole time. Like not only could he run farther and faster and deflect arrows, but he was warmer in their crappy barracks and had better muscle recovery. He must have been incredibly annoying to all of the non-enhanced humans.
Assemble... again?
Can you tell who is who?
And do you miss somebody?
(still working... Hope you like it!)
So it’s canon that Sig can play the flute. Also look at Kaladin and the anxietyspren around him.
This is by far one of my favorite pieces.
