Naruto stared at the board, his eyes wide, and the stillness that covered the room was broken by his loud, triumphant shout; he hugged Sakura close to him and they both broke out in to a messy victory dance.

Shikamaru stared at the board as well, wonder in his eyes and disbelief on his face, and he wondered how he hadn’t seen this coming (he had but he hadn’t expected Naruto to see the opportunity, to take it and use it to win).

Seeing his flabbergasted distress, Naruto and Sakura swooped down to press kisses to either of their favorite genius’s cheeks as Naruto murmured, “I win ‘ttebayo, and you know what that means-” (he did know what that meant, and he honestly wondered if he had really ‘lost’ as Naruto and Sakura pulled him in the the bedroom).
