She went about being an idol a little backwards, or at least Liberty media seemed to think so. While she was scouted when she was 13, she didn’t accept. Her parents had always told her that there was nothing more important than getting a good education, so she wanted to finish high school without any distractions from that, and she knew very well that training would be a huge one. She had some dance lessons here and there, to keep herself in shape and together, but she didn’t train full time. No, she had priorities and she wasn’t going to throw those away at the first chance of getting famous.

Sikyung put incredible effort into her schoolwork, and even managed to graduate two years early. And since she’d still been practicing in her spare time, Liberty had been patiently waiting. Sure, she was replaceable. There was tons of talent out there. But when they heard she was on the market again, they snapped her right up, and she started training at the age of sixteen. It didn’t take her very long to catch up with the other trainees and get in a spot where her rap and dancing were comparable to the others. And after barely any training at all, she debuted as girlstory’s main rapper. and again with burnout

While she’s in a girl group now, she still likes to educate herself, always with her nose in a book or looking things up and researching on the internet. She may look young and a little airheaded at first glance, but she’s very intelligent and well read. She takes correspondence classes for college when she’s not promoting, and has goals of graduating.

She’s very blunt and upfront. Sikyung prides herself on being incredibly open-minded, and feels uncomfortable being purposefully rude, although sometimes her blunt nature can come across that way. She has a bit of resting bitch face too, which doesn’t help
