yuri visits otabek’s house for the first time because it’s the off season and yakov is like “yeah fine whatever go say hey to your bro” except yakov definitely does Not call otabek yurio’s bro.

so anyway yuri shows up to otabek’s house and they’re having a fine old time hanging out and doing whatever Teens do and then yuri sees something wriggling on the floor and is like ??? “otabek is that a disgusting worm thing” and otabek stares at it and jumps to his feet

and then he’s like “ah shit, ajax, i forgot!” and yuri is like??? you have a worm named ajax? and otabek stares at him like wtf why would i name a worm yuri do you think i’m crazy

so otabek is like, “yuri, i have a bearded dragon named ajax and that’s his food that’s apparently escaping.” 

and yuri is fucking pumped because a dragon? so otabek scoops up the escaped worms and carries them back into the room where the lizard is and yuri sees...

something that looks like it doesn’t move much other than to eat. the lizard (ajax) lifts its head to observe that they’re in there and is perfectly tame as otabek picks him up and plops him on his shoulder. “ajax.” he introduces, and yuri stares.

“potya is cooler.”

that doesn’t mean he doesn’t take a sweet selfie with the dragon.
