unfortunately new 52 cassie is something that is so important and special to me
like yeah they slaughtered her character and stripped her down to an over sexed random blonde girl but there really is something there that is interesting to me
like i saw a post about how shes cassie if she didn’t have one of her most defining aspects— her strong female role models. a cassie who is left alone and constantly feels like she is alone, a cassie who is living alone in a cheap house in west hollywood by herself at SEVENTEEN, a cassie who is angry and deceptive and not afraid to lie and cheat and steal to get her way because she truly thinks thats the only way to live her life
this cassie has a strained relationship with her mother but still that fascination with archaeology and history is there. and even while she tries her best to just be alone and independent because she doesn’t feel like she’s truly family to her mother, she still seeks out this shared passion and eventually it ensnares her in the silent armor
new 52 cassie is a cassie that is fundamentally alone and believes everything that she has that is truly hers has to be stolen. she doesn’t believe in hope or heroes or family, and she doesn’t even believe in herself. what she knows is that what is taken is true and so she lives her life in such a way that she becomes a fundamentally different person and i really just get so caught up in that
