Rapier in hand, Papalymo trudged through the black shroud, keeping his left hand steady so he didn’t drop the floating crystal. He needed to get used to it. Especially if he was going to defend himself and one day return to the scions. 

He slowed to a stop though, seeing someone up ahead. Were they an ally or not? He sheathed the crystal and blade, walking towards the person. They looked like an Au Ra from here, but his weaker eye wasn’t really helping him... If only he still had his monocle or a pair of glasses.

Once he focused he quickly realized that was a scion. 

He had seen his face here and there, and he was sure news of his death was spreading throughout the ranks of the scions. So he covered his head again with the hood of his cowl, letting out a sigh.

Of course there would be scions in the shroud. Baelsar’s Wall was right there after all. Maybe he could just pretend to be an adventurer that’s passing by? Maybe just being in the shroud at all was a dumb idea, he’s already been hearing rumors of a “dead scion being sighted” so maybe that’s what brought them here.

Yeah this was a dumb idea.

“Masaki---” The voice is irritated, and it makes every other rogue in the room freeze up. It wasn’t often Jacke had the tone of voice he showed, but when he had to catch a dagger headed straight at his chest, it tended to make him a bit irritated at best.

“I don’t take kindly t' bein’ a target board.” He stabs the others knife into the table infront of him, staring directly at the Au Ra while doing so. “Did ye just lose yer grip or are ye testin’ me patience.”

“No, no! Masaki it’s okay!” Maru assured the Au Ra hurriedly, waving him off, back, away. With his other hand, he wiped away the blood from the shallow cut in his cheek. Then the deeper cut in his thigh. For all the eastern attire was light and easier to move in than full dragoon armour, it definitely did not protect him the way his armour would.

Grimacing slightly and hissing with pain, he looked across at his companion with a bit of helpless amusement.

“Actually, y’know what? Go right ahead Masaki! I’ll just... wait... over here...”
