The picture, changed or unchanged, would be to him the visible emblem of conscience. He would resist temptation. He would not see Lord Henry any more—would not, at any rate, listen to those subtle poisonous theories that in Basil Hallward’s garden had first stirred within him the passion for impossible things. He would go back to Sibyl Vane, make her amends, marry her, try to love her again. Yes, it was his duty to do so. She must have suffered more than he had. Poor child! He had been selfish and cruel to her. The fascination that she had exercised over him would return. They would be happy together.

So I got some new followers after posting that Patchwork art, I assume at least some of you have read the fic. It’s not impossible some of you folks might be interested in reading some silly posts I made on Twitter while I have been writing it.

Unicron 6: The Big Finale. (Apologies to anyone that has issues with the cut.)

We open with Marissa and Buster talking with Soundwave. Neither Marissa or Buster are happy to have been left behind while TC is off being a hero. You wanna know who is happy, though?

Little Sideswipe. This guy is almost never without a smile on his face. <3 (And he only gets cuter than ever in OP 25, but we’ll get to that later.)

Outside the atmosphere, the assault on Unicron continues. Quips are shot around, including one that leads to an apology from Trypticon for the outdated attitude. <3

We then come to the Seekers, wherein TC and Skywarp are arguing like a couple of young siblings. Starscream has them well in hand, though, taking command of the trio like he’s never been away from it.

Heading into the fray, Thundercracker takes a shot early. Arcee swats Skywarp’s snotty eyerolling about it down.

His snottiness add a highly amusing layer to the joy that is his relationships with everyone. (And I love how Rock ‘n Roll handles it so easily. <3)

Next up: Slide is still salty. Followed by a montage across the face of the planet of the bad guys being taken down by all of Earth’s forces, native born and refugee. Until we get to Shockwave and Rhinnox.

Shockwave is quite flabbergasted to learn that Bludgeon doesn’t think Shockwave and his Plan are the Bestest Thing Ever. His day gets even worse when faithful Rhinox turns out to be not so faithful. Poor Shocky. It’s just not his day at all. I suppose that’s what you get when you expect everyone around you to do the logical thing as you’ve laid out for them to do, right?

And back to the Seekers! TC’s in trouble!

But wait! What is that purple smudge and incoming sound effect?! That’s right. It’s none other than Snottypants!

Oh, Warp. Lookit you go, being the hero. <3

Still gonna be problems between them, considering how very different they are---like I mentioned earlier, it’s like a sibling relationship between the two of them.

And that’s all it takes. TC is handing over the mission to Starscream because Skywarp’s reignited that bond of brotherhood. (Due to the 2018 OP Annual with all the flashbacks during TC’s research, I’m still utterly of the mind that TC’s the youngest of the three and definitely the squishiest on the inside.) He’s more than a bit dramatic and romantic, but that’s just who he is and I love him for it. <3 They’re my favorite additions/upgrades to his personality, ever. Sure, to a hardass like Skywarp it looks like he’s an idiot, but the softness is what makes TC the first Seeker to defect.

This, however, leaves poor Starscream alone with Autobots.

Abandoned again by his fellow Seekers, but not quite in the same fashion. They’d still be with Starscream, had TC not been hit and Skywarp gone to save him, after all. (But that’s too neat and pretty, everybody survives nonsense, you know?)

Rut roh, Raggy! What are they gonna do now? Oh, just this:

Starscream knew someone would have to sacrifice themselves going in because he thought the whole thing through. He’d already decided that he’d be the one to step up to the plate. Because of them all? He’s the one that doesn’t really have anything to go back to. Rewind a few panels and we’ve got this:

Is his plan suicidal? Yes, but only in the way that it had to be because there was no coming back for at least one of them on this mission. The others had good lives they were building to go back to or were needed for something more than getting through Unicron’s plating. Starscream stepped up and decided his crowning glory would be as a Sacrifice (capital S, mind you) that would be highly instrumental in saving the universe. He can’t be that and live? Let him take the prize for this, at least.

That smile says a whole lot. He’s at peace with his decision. And he really does like Windblade. <3

After this, we get a spot with Ironhide, Jazz, Bee, and Aileron. This was an interesting slip on Jazz’s part, after Ironhide is ripped in half and dying.

The fact that Jazz’s first thought for a medic was Ratchet, not someone actually in the vicinity of Earth? Nice call back to the original Autobot crew. <3 And I really like how Ironhide’s paint is flaking away.

Next up, the Dinobots! Slug exchanges words with Slide, who is totally feeling her anger.

Fortunately, Swoop still stands as a Voice of Reason among his fellows.

And back to Shockwave! We start the scene with a big mule kick. Didn’t know you had it in you, Shockwave. Bwahahaha!

However, when Shockwave tries to fire his cannon on the treacherous Rhinox, nothing happens. Because, wouldn’t you know it, Rhinox didn’t actually give him a cannon that would work against the Maximals. *lol* Oh, Shockwave. This is what you get for not being more suspicious. Old School Megatron and Starscream totally would have tested things. XD

Rhinox rips the cannon free and turns it on Shockwave, only to get his head blown off before he can fire it by this guy:

Prowl, the Bot of Many Hidden Plans. More on this when I get into OP 25. Because yowza, Prowl.

OP 25 shows us exactly what Prowl means by this and proves that IDW!Prowl is an absolutely terrifying motherboard fucker that plays with fire dangerously on the edge of getting out of control on a regular basis. I love him. <3

On to Arcee and Optimus fighting their way to the heart of Unicron. It’s a crowded place with all those Maximals basically melting out of the walls to jump at them. They finally make it and what’s this at the center of it all?

...a black hole. The handwavey sci fi is strong, as it should be. <333

Don’t worry, Optimus, she will! And it gives us one of the cutest interactions ever in the history of this continuity. *lol*

But, yeah, sorry, Arcee. He kind of does have to do this. Whee! Optimus flings himself off the edge and into the blackness.

And back to Earth! Stardrive and Snake Eyes are taking down some more baddies but interrupted by the arrival of Prowl literally dragging along Shockwave, who is waxing lyrical about his place in creating Optimus Prime and how he’s not quite sure where it all went wrong, but maybe the Shadowplay had something to do with it... blah blah blah. Then Prowl shuts him down in his beautifully Prowl fashion.

He then has Stardrive use her interesting combination magic and tech to dig into Shockwave’s brain. They use the information she gathers to set up the Enigma of Combination for use by the Aerialbots. We get to see Jetfire is comfortably treating DOC as more than just a drone at this point. <3

Superion is back in business, too, all set to do battle against Monstructor.

However, whatever Soundwave’s got planned with the Enigma? Not time yet.

And back to Optimus! He finds the dude behind Unicron and tries talking it out with him. Dude’s not having it. FIST FIGHT!

Back to Earth, again! Superion v. Monstructor is interrupted by the arrival of Sky Lynx and the Dinobots (and assorted colonists).

Slide is being her angry self, of course. Until the Torchbearers show up. What? They’re going to join the fight against Monstructor even though with a missing gestalt member, they can’t form Victorion now. Hey, you know what would be cool? Oh, wait, it looks like Barber already thought of it! Slide, you’ve got a team to be a member of now. Get out there as part of Victorion and kick some Monstructor aft. :D

Up next? More Dinobots, this time taking on Bludgeon aboard his own ship. Who wouldn’t get a little intimidated to see this coming their way?

It’s still kinda weird seeing them without Grimlock fronting the band, but there’s no way I’d take Grim away from the Scavengers (or Lost Light, now) at this point. <3

They get Bludgeon and his ship out of the way, giving Soundwave all the time he needs to pull off his plan.

It gets all hinky spiritual mumbo jumbo in a way that Drift would love after this. Jetfire has no clue what’s happening because it’s not Science. Shockwave is sure it’s the end of all creation because Soundwave is Not Doing It Right. And Prowl? Prowl’s just Prowl.

He gets it. He does. He just also doesn’t look at it in any sort of spiritual manner---that, after all, just doesn’t fit into his coding. Prowl gets a lot more than people give him credit for in canon. He’s just really good at bending things in a way that work better for him, especially at this point. Better than Shockwave?

And then Soundwave does it. He draws on all the powers of the universe---the souls of those departed, the good of all things---and commences Operation: Absolution.

Eat your heart out, Starscream. You’ve done been outclassed. <3 *lol* But, yeah, this is the end of Soundwave in the corporeal. He joins the Afterspark with all those familiar faces. :)

I’m rather fond of Shockwave’s response to it.

Yeah. Oh. Not much else a highly logical mind can say about something so very outside his understanding. This is supreme skeptic being steamrolled by a massive paranormal event, pretty much. *lol*

Optimus is powered up by the surge of spiritual energies, but the fist fight continues because Dude hasn’t been talked down enough yet.

Elsewhere, the Dinobots are being pulverized by Bludgeon and his crew, but the ship crashes into the White House... because why not? Before things can get out of hand with Bludgeon and crew, in comes the cavalry! Rum-maj and Wreck-gar with a load of Sharkticons save the day!

Windblade calls back the troops because there’s nothing more they can do. Optimus has been given all the help they can give him by way of Soundwave’s sacrifice. Bumblebee and Aileron, though, aren’t going to leave without bringing along everyone they can grab. Aileron, especially, isn’t leaving without Arcee. <3

And surprise, surprise! Optimus wins the day.

With cuddles. Remember guys! If Optimus offers you a hug? You lose. Bahahaha! All right, so it’s supposed to be as close to a win-win as this scenario can offer, but still. <3

Unicron’s body folds into itself, falling into the black hole. Amusingly, this leaves the singularity floating in the Earth’s sky. Have fun, science bots.

Then, it’s time for the issue wrap up. First up, Buster knows better. <3

Guess who’s not as dead as events would have you believe?! <333 I adore that TC calls Buster a little piggie. *lol* This is an obvious reference to her being a snorty dog. XD *eyes own snorty dogs* Yup, piggies. Also, is it too much for me to hope that this brings TC and Skywarp back together? Let them rekindle (or maybe just kindle because they weren’t necessarily truly close at all before according to flashbacks) the friendship that should be there.

On the moon:

My question, though: are Bee and Buzzsaw watching Arcee and Aileron like a couple of pervs? *lol*

On Earth, Prowl smiles on seeing Wheelie! Or... is it because he’s got Shockwave as a prisoner? *lol, eyes him hard*

And the part that actually in the whole issue made me get a bit weepy:

Sunny looks so at peace, finally. The heart breaking edge that Sideswipe is not there to enjoy this with him just kills me, though. *WEEPS*

Swoop and Strafe look to be the only Dinobots making it out of the Bludgeon fight. *SNUGGLES SWOOP*

Slide is officially welcomed into the Torchbearers. <3

LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT “MINIATURE” BLACK HOLE! I’m sorry, sure, it’s not a super massive, but something that size is still not precisely miniature. Again, have fun, science bots.

And we’ll finish off with Disney princess TC again because it’s hysterical. <333 XD

Marissa’s has a bit of it going on, too, what with the butterflies. *lol* I need to work more on plotting that fic out, while I’m thinking about it.

Not a bad end, really. It’s just goofy enough in spots to be very fitting, too. Something doesn’t make sense? Lay the blame down on the joy that is canon inconsistency from the very beginning of the franchise. <3

Now, on to the epilogue that is Optimus Prime 25. :) (It may wait until tomorrow because I put way too much time into doing these, silly as they ultimately are, and I have other things need doing today.)

Based just on my assumption, I think the reason why Dorian will still mess it all up is because he lacks the good intention for him to carry out the right thing. He focuses on the consequences (marrying sibyl, avoiding henry) without realising why, or without the right intentions.
