Tasogare
After all this time, if I had stopped and looked back, would I have changed?
Suigetsu, an original character, serves as a source of inspiration for this digital painting. Quite frequently when I write, it inspires mental images that serve as the essence for my designs. The name of this piece, Tasogare, means twilight in Japanese. I chose this word because the mood of the story I was trying to display was uncertainty. I hope to convey a feeling of being stuck between the past and the future––of who you were and who you will be, and how the current you is affected by the two strangers that bear your name. Thus, I wanted to create an image with high contrast between light and dark just as twilight defines the changing interactions between night and day.
