You ever hear of intrusive thought? Its that thing where you think of some random shit out of nowhere. There is literally no rhyme or reason to it, it just pops into your head. Kind of a relief huh? It means you’re not crazy for thinking about shooting or stabbing someone. You know you would never do something like that, or enjoy it if you did, but it scares you regardless. Well… Imagine that happening all the time. Every minute of every hour, of every day. The difference is that you could easily act upon whatever your mind comes up with and nobody could stop you.
Your thoughts don’t disgust you either, rather you feel like you would get some kind of euphoric rush from doing it. You block it out, put it outside your mind, but then you start hearing whispers. At first its simply feathers in your ears, a small tickle that you can ignore. Soon though, it becomes a barrage of needles that dig into your brain. A…prickly feeling that you can’t fight against, and struggle to resist as the whispers only grow louder. Its only there if you focus on it, so you can ignore it by staying busy and staying around other people. Simply distract yourself from your own mind.
Of course sleep won’t come easy, meaning your resolve and strength will wane as fatigue begins stalking you. Now the whispers become shouts, constantly harassing you, the needles jamming further into your brain making you irritable and willing to do anything to make it stop.
Your thoughts turn inward, seeking some kind of refuge or sanctuary from these now corruptive voices, but you won’t find it no matter how hard you search. Instead you find blood, slather, a desire to hurt. Little by little you’ll lose yourself to the demon that you struggle with. You can’t drive it off, only resist, and even that won’t last forever.
Your resistance, in the end, will get you nothing. You’ll grow weaker and weaker and become more accepting of those dark thoughts that now cloud your mind, making even simple decisions difficult. There is no cure for this growing madness, only a suppressive action, either from your own will or acting upon the voices. You must kill. The longer you resist, the more blood you’ll spill. The weaker you are, the longer you lose yourself to the darkness of your own insanity. The ignorant would see this as a gift, I mean after all, you DO become immune to the feeling of death and to fear itself. You become a warrior who kills and feels nothing afterwards. One would say that you could basically become a Demigod. Yet I ask those who read this, what do you really gain from this power?
You feel no remorse, no emotion. You spill blood in VAST quantities to regain your sanity, and though you get it back for what feels like a fleeting second…you’ll only hold onto it until the voices return.
You’ll alienate yourself, out of a desire for solitude, and a desire to protect those you care about.
I have lived with this “gift” everyday of my life since I was “chosen”. I was given a power that I never wanted, turned into this “Avatar” that I had no choice in accepting. My life is no longer my own, I no longer have a choice in anything. I am a slave with an invisible master…a Master that grants me strength and abilities beyond any mortal mind. I walk among mortal men and woman who look at me in fear, or jealously at this “gift” I now wield.
And this is one gift, I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Vessel of the Great Wolf Spirit Volkein
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed, Volkein is all powerful, the creator of all life on our world, and some say the planet itself. Every living thing, is part of his essence and like his “children” he too sought a vessel to survive, and in the end...he found me. Yet I believe it his children that will be a much greater threat. Allow me to start from the beginning....
Legend states that Volkein created the planet but it was a blank slate. Yes the planet had life, but it lacked something, and seeking children to further his goal of creating life throughout the galaxy he created six “children” known as the Great Spirits of Creation that he deemed would spread the essence of magic throughout the planet and build it as they saw fit, with his overseeing approval of course.
The first Spirit and oldest son was Infernus: Spirit of Pride, Justice, and War. Wielding the element of Fire, Infernus ignited in the living creatures of the planet the essence of a powerful will, driving them to ever greater goals, along with instilling the desires to protect those who deserve it and destroy those who are a threat. He brought Fire to the planet, and gave the gift of Pyromancy to the first family of Arcana.
The second Spirit and son was Tenebra; Spirit of Death, Darkness, and the Afterlife. Tenebra, unlike his older brother viewed much of the life on the new planet with a caring, melancholic eye, knowing that one day all life no matter how strong would come to an end. This feeling gave him power over death and in order to ensure that no death was ever wasted, he decreed that all those who died would have their spirits return to the planet itself, to one day be reborn as new life. Despite his dark exterior, Tenebra loved the planet and its people, bringing the powers of Necromancy to the second of the Arcane families, allowing them to speak with those who had passed to gain knowledge.
The third Spirit and oldest daughter was Lucida: Spirit of Light, Judgement, and Luck. Naturally being the spirit of Light, she immediately began to hate her brother Tenebra who brought night to the world while she brought day. She also disagreed on the views of the planets creatures. Tenebra saw the futility in their lives but he cared deeply for them, while Lucida believed that all life should live to serve the Spirits who created them hence, and judged all life harshly by her own accords. She also gave the powers of Lumimancy to the third family of the Arcane in the hopes that they would use her powers to spread the word of the Great Spirits.
The fourth Spirit was the last son Terram: Spirit of Life, Nature, and Knowledge. Despite being the youngest of the sons, Terram was by far the most intelligent. He saw both sides of his brothers and sisters arguing and served as a stabilizing force between them. He spread great forests and luscious natural life across the planet to give his fathers creations a beautiful home. Like his brother Tenebra, Terram also cared for the life of the world and gave them the gifts of knowledge so they could grow wise and prosper, as well as giving the power of Biomancy to the fourth Arcane family.
The fifth Spirit and second daughter was Saeva: Spirit of Beasts, Mountains, and Earth. By far the most stubborn of the children, Saeva only shared her thoughts with her brother Terram and the two of them are what made our world such a beautiful place. Terram painted the world with beauty and Saeva filled it with life is how I would describe it. She gave the beasts of the world their instincts and crafted the great mountains we see today. She also had a hand in creating the people of Animalia and gifted the power of Beastimancy to the fifth Arcane family.
The final Spirit and daughter was Ventia: Spirit of Water, Weather, and the Sky. The youngest and by far the most uncontrollable spirit, Ventia’s mood dictated how she felt. Her gentleness brought soft rains and winds, while her rage brought storms and tornadoes. She too loved the life on the world, but she also demanded its respect, constantly growing irritated when she felt like she was being ignored. She blessed those who remembered her with bountiful harvests and comfortable rains and winds, and punished others with her wrath. Many times her siblings attempted to calm her, but only Infernus could calm her wrath for he knew how to control his own, and attempted to teach her as well. Through Infernus’s teachings she also gave her gift of Weathermancy to the final Arcane family.
With all six Children shaping the world he created, Volkein declared that he wanted to see what else the Galaxy held for him, and set off alone on a personal journey leaving his world and his creations in the hands of his Children. Little did he know...what destruction he would unleash by doing so...
