Black Winter Maiden: Emerald feels motherly love for the first time. She does all she can to earn hugs because she can’t bring herself to ask for them.

Mercury teased her about it once. His mother being in earshot is why he doesn’t tease her about it again.

Also, his mother REALLY wants him to settle down with a good girl.

This took me a minute to get, but her name is Silver ~ Green

Silver smiled at Emerald as they were working in her home’s kitchen as they seemed to finish baking a cake. “And that Emerald is how you make an ice cream cake” the older woman said as she cut a slice of cake for Emerald

Emerald was wearing an apron with some flower staining it. She accepted the plate, and was smiling a bit as she’d never gotten a chance to learn to bake before. “Thanks, I’ve always wanted to learn how to bake.”

“Well I’m more than happy to teach you. I’m gonna go wash up now, you enjoy the cake.” Silver told her as she began to make her way out the room, unaware that Emerald had almost made a motion to raise her arms for a hug from the other woman.

Unaware to Emerald Mercury had been watching from the door frame on the other side of the room, and he started to chuckle; getting Emerald’s attention.

“What’s so funny?” Emerald glared at the silvered haired teen.

“Pft, it’s kinda pathetic that you keep motioning for my mom to hug you when her back is turned.” The young man continued chuckling as he went to cut a slice of cake for himself.

Emerald pouted as she continued glaring at her partner. “Shut up!”

“Hey hey no need to get mad, I’m just saying if you’re gonna hug her then go for it. No need to be so scared.” He started taking bites of the cake, enjoying how the ice cream complimented the flavor of the cake.

“Ugh! If I wanted a hug I’d go for it!” She huffed before storming out of the room with her cake.

“You know Merc that wasn’t nice.” A voice said behind him.

“What the?” Mercury turned around just as Silver’s fingers were pinching his ear. “Ow!”

“You will apologize to her, and will take he somewhere nice, understood?” She pulled his ear more as she looked him in the eyes.

Mercury groaned as he felt her pinch his ear more. “Alright, alright. Geez mom, I was only teasing her.”

Silver finally released his ear and nodded. “Good, now there’s a nice restaurant in town I’m sure she’d love. You’ll dress sharply, and make sure she has a good time. Am I understood?”

Mercury was rubbing his ear with a raised brow. “Mom why do you care so much abou—“

Steel fire started coming from her eyes. “Am I understood?” She asked again this time holding a large wooden spoon.

Mercury nodded as he backed away not wanting the spoon. “Yes mom.”

“Good Boy.” She ruffled his hair before walking away.

Its Mothers day, so The Arc/Steele kids decide to surprise their mom with a gift!

Steele always had a general idea of where her life would go.

A hired gun, she didn't plan to live past her forties. She never imagined herself a mother.

"Happy Mother's Day!"

Especially the kind to get flowers and breakfast in bed.

Chrom, Silver and Cobalt... Her three little brats... Ones that she would fight the death and the world over if she had to.

"We made it just like dad does!" Cobalt grins. His twin sister cheekily adds, "Silver's are the burned ones because she has hands growing out of her butt!"

"You little bitch!" Her eldest daughter hisses before giving her mother kiss. "Have fun tonight, mom... Please, don't make another of these runts though."

Steele chuckled.

She would make no such promises.

Jaune: Hm? Where are you off to in such a hurry?

Athena: A concert.

Jaune: She’s 17.

Pyrrha: Jaune still.

Jaune: Don’t worry Pyrrha we can trust her, after all she’s got to much of her mother in her.

Pyrrha: *rolls her eyes and smiles*

*three hours later*

Pyrrha: *sees a FaceSpace update from Athena, apparently she’s at Vale’s concert hall* Oh she was at a classical music thing.

Jaune: See. *checks the status and nearly sputters*

Athena’s Update: Showed up to support my boyfriend’s big day! *she’s hugging Silver Black who’s holding a violin*

Jaune: Pyrrha you were right! We should not have let her go out by herself!

Pyrrha: Oh Jaune. *rolls her eyes, very amused* Oh Yang posted an update too.

Yang’s Update: I’m so proud of my little man, first he’s admitted to my Alma Mater, and now he’s being recognized for his art! #blessed

Pyrrha: I wish she’d have told us, I’d love to support Silver’s passion for art.

Jaune: *grumbles* That delinquent is gonna hurt her!

Pyrrha: *smirks* Jaune he’s literally tripped on air, if anything he’s a bigger dork than you were, and you know what they say about girls falling for men like their fathers.

Jaune: Agh, I’ve meet me. I’m the worst, and Athena deserves better.
