The haystack at Silver Point about 3 miles south of Cannon Beach, Oregon. There's a cave at low tide through the middle of the rock that comes out on the ocean side vey near the breakers. Not nearly as high as the Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach and yet just as awesome!

“The snow is in the bells”

Winter (silverpoint) part two of a two part series

For one having lived most only my life not having seen snow, winter has always infatuated me. (Probably why i live in milwaukee for most of the winter). And having grown up watching BBC narnia with the white witch rides about in a grand white sleigh and beautiful ominous woodwinds and brass music plays, its the music and the eeriness that inspires me. Always theres been an image in my mind when i close my eyes. Standing in the quiet snowy clearing deep in the snow covered forest. The sight of ones own breath. The soft crunch of snow underfoot muffled by the silence of snowfall. The faint sound of sleigh bells, distant music like that from narnia, grand horns, soft silver flutes, deep bassoons and quivering obbos so faint. And always there is a white horse with pale eyes to greet me.
