Taylor Point LIghthouse provides a beacon for boaters in the shallow and rocky waters off Chuckanut Drive near Anacortes, WA . Very picturesque with the san Juan Islands looming in the background. The stone tower is only about 25' tall but highly visible to boaters. Located at the Taylor Shellfish Farms.

The haystack at Silver Point about 3 miles south of Cannon Beach, Oregon. There's a cave at low tide through the middle of the rock that comes out on the ocean side vey near the breakers. Not nearly as high as the Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach and yet just as awesome!

After hiking Mount Vernon, WA Little Mountain Park today I crossed the roadway from the East trailhead to the beaver pond on the other side to get a different angle on it. The pond is fed from runoff on Little Mountain rising to the left in this image.

A tiered plunge waterfall immediately west of the Baker lake Dam in the North Cascades above Concrete, WA. It has no name and since I photographed it named it Baker Lake Falls. At apx 150' tall this is a significant waterfall in the area. Amazingly sacked long exposure that didn't impart vibration into the image.

A small version of Depot Bay,, Oregon, a costal community on Hwy 101 catering to tourism, whale watching and boasting one of the smallest harbors in the country. Storefronts line the sidewalk in anticipation of vacation time shoppers. A great place to stop!

The Pleiades open star cluster, the largest and brightest in the sky. This superb cluster surrounded by wispy nebulosity lies about 444 light years from earth and is easily seen with the naked eye. it is a striking cluster at low powers in both binoculars and telescopes. The nebulosity is first seen in scopes 8" and larger depending on the darkness of the sky. This lies in Taurus and now is just setting on the western horizon, a winter constellation and cluster!

Alone, a beachcomber heads south on the beach at low tide south of Tolovana Wayside heading toward Silver Point just after dawn. The first large monolith in the mist has an opening though it that one can pass at very low tide. However the surf is just outside the western opening. A great place for an early morning or anytime hike!

One of the many trails I hike daily in Little Mountain Park in Mount Vernon, WA. It's only 2 miles from my house so a daily excursion with over 13 miles of trails to select from. This one, La-Z-Boy was named by the trailbuilders when they discovered the old recliner buried in the woods here. No shortage of moss on the trees in this old growth forest so close to home.

This is Rice Lake in Seymour Provincial Park in North Vancouver, BC. A beautiful lake stocked with trout with a nice paved walkway of about a mile round this charming lake. I was out for an early morning hike when I was living in Canada and caught the reflection and fog on the lake.
