S is for Seth Nightroad

Seth’s outfit is still probably the most elaborate costume I’ve ever sewn/made. Several hundred dollars of base materials, gemstone jewels I hand-cast myself, and 2 weeks of on-and-off casual sewing followed by 9 hours of intensive sewing EVERY SINGLE DAY for a full month. Nothing less for a regal empress! I was dead on the floor by the time I finished making this costume. Do I want to make other versions of Seth? .......... Yes. I loved doing this photoshoot too - very grateful to my photographer for taking this lovely picture of me & the outfit!

T is for Toshiko Sato

... or Torchwood! To this day I still really love Torchwood (the first two seasons, anyway). There’s a sense of real heart to a campy TV show that doesn’t take itself too seriously. So far I think this is the only cosplay I’ve done of a live-action media, and I definitely want to do more. I’m not as pretty as Naoko Mori, but I hope I’ve done her character justice! I love Tosh and I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to do this cosplay/photoshoot :)

What you’re looking at isn’t really a cosplay, but I decided to include it anyway because I feel like it’s close! It’s a photoshoot that I did in which I modeled videll202‘s outfit that she designed and made for her fashion studies project. In this meme, I suppose this is the first (and only) entry that I’m posting in which what I’m wearing in the photo hasn’t been sewn/made by me. It’s fun though to get to wear pretty things and get pretty photos of it without dying over the sewing machine, lol.

Got my first ever Daily Deviation on deviantART today. I feel incredibly privileged! Ellen remains one of my favorite cosplays that I've done, so I'm glad the DD went to this cosplay. :)
