Morning, friends.
1960′s Tempo Electric Guitar and Silvertone 1471 Amp
from http://www.aardvarkguitars.com/
I had to throw out the area rug in my office because my cat barfed on it so much that we got this terrible moth infestation. Rug is gone, moths are gone, and the new replacement rug arrived today.
Was on a limited budget so I couldn’t get anything really thick and plush, but I dig the colour scheme.
Special.
Need to take out the soldering iron and fix a broken lead in one of the P-90s on my Les Paul. I’m really hoping my radio contract is renewed in the fall, because in the spring I’d gotten into a real groove of producing my own segments and recording my own music. The summer’s been kinda bleh without it.
1941 Silvertone 2312
A very rare Silvertone in remarkable condition for being 85 years old and in original white. This was well loved by someone. 5Y3, 6V6, 6F5, 6SF5, 8″ field coil speaker.
1958 Silvertone 1394
This was an actual barn find - full of hay and mice had eaten the speaker cone. Fortunately it didn’t smell bad. Had the electronics updated and the speaker reconed - problems solved. 2 channels, mic channel is much hotter as is normal with older amps - no cap on the input. 2 6L6 into a big 15″ plus tremolo on the Instrument channel makes for joyous noise. Back removed for the 2nd photo.
1952 Silvertone 1342
A rare find of the trapezoid shaped 1342, they don’t come on the market very often. I have an even harder to find trapezoidal 1343 thanks to a tip from a collection fan. I know of several studios across the US that have one of these in their amp inventory, such as The Loft of Chicago (who commented on my 1342 Instagram post that they loved theirs.) The 1342 is a rejiggered LectroLab r-500, not a Danelectro. 2 6V6, 2 channels, 12″.
