The Meade Legacy: The Wedding!

Today, Harriet gets married to Salim and Ava to Emanuel, finally.

The event started off beautifully. Louise, Harriet’s mom, had an emotional breakdown in the first few minutes since her little sister was finally settling down, and her eldest daughter was getting married after years of being a solo mom.

Since their parents had passed away, Louise walked Ava down the aisle, while Harriet was accompanied by Alexis.

Part Two: The Ceremony

Harriet and Salim's vows:

Harriet to Salim: I didn't expect you like this. You showed up when I was bewildered. Then I got messy, scared and overwhelmed and you stayed. You helped me laugh when I wanted to cry and held me when I swore I didn't need anyone. But today I promise I'll let you in. I'll choose you on the chaotic days and the quiet ones. I'll love you, not perfectly, but honestly. Always.

Salim to Harriet: Harriet, you are impossible not to love. You were not looking for me. But I saw you fierce, soft, tired, and brave… sometimes all at once. My promise is: I'll be your calm. I'll love our children. I'll love you on the easy days, the hard days, and every beautiful chaos in between.

Ava and Emanuel's vows:

Ava to Emanuel: I wasn’t looking for love when I met you. I was looking for a distraction… and maybe trouble. But you stayed. Through my chaos, the bar, my carefree attitude, Nico’s sarcasm… and now, Liam. You held things with me when everything was falling apart, and you gave me a family I didn’t know I needed. So here’s my promise: I won’t run. I’ll fight for us. And I’ll love you... Loud, messy, and for the rest of my life.

Emanuel to Ava: Before you, I didn’t believe in much. I had lost Brianna's mom and I never thought I'd find love again. Then you walked in. Wild, funny, bossy… and exactly what I needed. You helped me stand back up. You gave me a home. A family. You made me believe in myself again. I love you for every fight you picked with me and every time you held me after. So I promise: I’ll show up. I’ll love you and our family. Always.

Brianna, Emanuel's daughter, seemed pretty happy for her dad and her new mom.

Ava: She said you shouldn't be stuck playing for drunks forever. Also, I need help keeping this place alive without it eating us alive.

Louise suggested that maybe it'd be better if Emanuel started giving guitar lessons at the bar, rather than playing day and night like he’d been doing. Ava loved the idea and told Emanuel about it. He got excited about the chance to do something more meaningful with his passion for music, and together they started setting up a small studio for his lessons.

Brianna was tense from her lack of confidence and a loose tooth, and ended up saying a few bad words, earning herself a scolding from her dad. Still, he did his best to cheer her up afterward. Ava was feeling down too, cause they had just two days left to pay the bills and didn’t even have half the money yet. To make things worse, Nico came down with something and ended up napping when he should’ve been helping at the bar.

The good news: Emanuel’s guitar lessons had gotten off to a great start! With a little more work, they’d have enough for the bills soon.

After the wedding, Ava and Emanuel went straight back to work. Emanuel took over most duties at the bar while Ava struggled with the pregnancy, physically and emotionally. Nico tried to help, balancing school and the bar, but he got exhausted from school.

Then their cat Paco, who belonged to Ava’s late mother, Mariana, passed away. The loss hit everyone hard, especially Ava, who felt like she lost her last connection to her mom. Her pregnancy mood swings only made things harder.

She and Emanuel weren’t always on the same page about the baby, which led to some tension between them, but Emanuel stayed supportive and did his best to hold everything together.

After Paco’s death, Nico reached out to his childhood best friend, Ryan, for comfort. She rejected him immediately. Ava went to visit her sister Louise in Tartosa, and their time together helped lift her spirits.

By the third trimester, Ava finally embraced the idea of having another baby boy. Health-wise, she and the baby are doing well, according to the doctor. The bar, however, is struggling between §19,000 in lot taxes and §2,000 in utilities. They’re drowning in debt. Ava is terrified of losing the business, but with the baby on the way, she knows they can’t keep pulling all-nighters like this. Emanuel continues to support her in every possible way, but they might have to make a tough decision soon.

By the time Liam was born, their financial situation hadn't improved, but it wasn't all bad. By looking at him, Ava was sure they were going to be okay, soon.

The Bittencourt Legacy: A Review

After their mother passed away and the kids had grown, Ava was managing her bar decently, though paying the bills was always a struggle. One day, she spotted a man who caught her attention. That wasn’t exactly rare; Ava was used to flings, but she never let anything serious come close enough to affect her or Nico’s life.

But this guy… he was definitely her type. He played guitar, drank a little too much, and quickly became a regular at her bar. There was something mysterious about him, and Ava couldn’t resist starting a casual affair.

His name was Emanuel, and from the start, things were steamy between them. But soon Ava found out he carried more than just good looks. He had a tragic past. He was a widower and father to a little girl named Brianna. Watching the way he interacted with Nico revealed a softer, more thoughtful side of him. It didn’t take long before they were going on dinner dates, sometimes even with Nico in tow. It was… unlike Ava. She wasn’t that kind of girl.

Emanuel had lost custody of Brianna after her mother, Lena, passed away. He was finally getting her back, but his living situation in a tiny house in Oasis Springs made him anxious. He was worried he couldn’t give Brianna the home she deserved. That’s when Ava, acting on impulse like she often did, asked him to move in with her and Nico. Her apartment had space, and Brianna would even have her own room. Emanuel said yes. That same night, he proposed, "What if we got engaged?" She laughed and said, "Sure, why not? I could use more hands downstairs at the bar."

It was reckless, just like many of Ava’s decisions. But somehow… it felt right. And they couldn’t be happier.

A few days later, Ava went over to visit her niece so they could catch up. Harriet excitedly told her how Salim had proposed, but also admitted that part of her felt guilty. After all, Ava and Emanuel had been engaged for much longer and never managed to get married.

After the founders left, life settled nicely for Harriet and Salim. They got engaged, found their rhythm with the babies, and embraced the chaos of family life. Marie often came over to play with Vivienne, while Louise frequently visited Aurora, offering guidance and inspiration for her artistic projects. After all, she’s a famous painter.

For Aurora, though, it wasn’t so much about settling as it was about excitement. She was enjoying her newfound freedom without her moms around, and with Freya always by her side, their relationship was steady and strong.

To make things even more complicated, Ava revealed that just when she and Emanuel were finally starting to get back on their feet and make more money with his guitar lessons, she found out she was pregnant again. That’s when Harriet had an idea: she insisted until Ava agreed to have a double wedding with her. Harriet promised Ava wouldn’t have to pay a thing. At first, Ava didn’t want to accept, but she eventually gave in when Harriet said it would be an engagement gift from her and Salim since she hadn't given them an engagement gift yet.
