Emmitt to himself: I hope I can make you proud.
After talking with Bria, Emmitt knew who he needed to speak with next. His parents were aging and were a fair distance, so the last thing he wanted was a grudge that widened the distance.
Emmitt extended an invitation to his parents to visit his family in Brindleton Bay to which they gratefully accepted. All were ready to make amends and have a serious discussion about what was coming next.
Duke Emmitt: Mother, father. Thank you so much for making the trip.
Duchess Juliet: Of course, son. We’ve missed you so especially as your last trip was cut short.
Emmitt: Yes, and I want to apologize for that-
Duke Frederico: No need, son. It is I who should apologize. I put what I think is best for you over what your heart has desired. All I hope is that you see my true intentions, son.

Not too long after they fell asleep, Bria was awoken by sharp pains. She quickly woke up Emmitt who did what he knew best... which was to wake up Kendall.
The two helped Bria as she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! She was very soon surrounded by the people who love her most!
The Winston's and Wu’s arrived at the Royal Theatre to a sea of people, reporters, and cameras all looking to get a glimpse of the young Duke and his date. Rumors had been speculating about the two since his trip a few months back to Simerica. In that time, Bria and Emmitt only were able to communicate via phone and hadn’t been seen together since.
Some snarky blogs reported on Bria’s wardrobe, her upbringing in Simerica, and her attitude. But, most were captivated by the possibility of a new Royal from Simerica to continue to challenge the strict yet changing rules of the Royal Family.
Bria was in awe at the beauty of the performance by a young and talented ballerina. Emmitt enjoyed the show almost as much as he enjoyed being in the company of his date.
Lastly, Bria and the Duke had a lot of preparation and planning to do when it came to their life after the wedding. Bria often couldn’t keep up with the Royal conditions and rules. But, she handled them... with some grace at times... once in a while...
Royal Regulation: Learn SimDonian history and customs.
Bria Compromise: Boring.... but fine.
Royal Regulation: A modest wardrobe is expected from Royal family members especially at public events.
Bria Compromise: Ugh! I’ll do my best. No guarantees.
Royal Regulation: All Royal family members must reside in a home owned by the Royal Family which must be occupied by security and staff.
Bria Compromise: Okay, now you’re talking my language! Yes, your majesty. But, maybe don’t crowd us with guards.
Of course, there was the last condition that truthfully was a bit awkward as it a bit personal for Bria. Plus, it was talked about with everyone from his parents, to hers, to the public.
Royal Regulation: All Royal Marriages shall produce at least one heir. No titles will be bestowed upon spouses without an heir.
Now, Bria was not against having more kids or being a Duchess, but she didn’t like talking about “trying” with the world. It put a lot of pressure on her. She also didn’t understand much about the hierarchy, but she knew that Emmitt was not in succession to the throne in any way, so she didn’t know why it had to be a condition! But, she knew he wanted a child of his own and she wanted to give that to him.
Back in SimDonia, the Duke and Duchess along with Emmitt were receiving an extensive background report from their Head of Security, Conner.
Conner: She is the daughter of famous influencer, Kendall Wu and reknowned author, Harry Wu. She is a celebrity stylist and has set trends across Simerica. She graduated from University of Britechester. She resides in Del Sol Valley with her two sons and we just received word that she is now divorced from husband, Gustavo Ravikumar whose family has ties in Selvadorado business and exports. She’s been in the press quite a bit during her college years. Nothing too negative other than partying, plastic surgery, and tattoos.
Juliet concerned: Two sons?!?
Frederico concerned: Plastic Surgery?!?
Emmitt excited: Recently divorced? It must be fate then!
The Duke decided it was a good time to have a private one on one chat with his son. The two men had a frank discussion over scotch.
Frederico: Son, we want nothing but the best for you. As you know, our family is not under the scope that other royal members are under and things are far less strict when it comes to marriage. But, you want to ensure that the woman you choose will be someone who can truly stand by your side without chaos. If this is the woman, we support you. But, we want you to be sure in your heart.
Emmitt took his father’s words seriously. But, they didn’t deter him. He had to get to know Bria more. On his upcoming trip to Simerica for a charity tour, he planned to do just that.
After Kendall’s funeral, the family gathered at Bria and Emmitt’s home. While Bria is sad that her mother is gone, she is happy that her mom made family a priority for her and her children. They will get through this tragic loss together.
The night of the dinner party, Frederico made sure everything was perfect. From the food to the venue to his family’s attire. Everything had to be the absolute best. No exceptions.
Guests began to arrive including, SimDonian nobles, members of Parliament, and the guests of honor - King Spencer, Duchess Elizabeth, and Princess Diana. Frederico was excited for all of the SimDonian movers and shakers could discover his son in person. In the court of public opinion, he was hoping for a win.
Before the party was in full swing, Frederico gave a speech welcoming and thanking his guests for attending.
Frederico: Thank you all for attending this very special occasion. I want to give an extra special thanks to our honored members of Parliament. Thank you for your service to SimDonia and your attendance here tonight Prime Minister, Lords, and Ladies. I’d also like to send a special thanks to His Majesty King Spencer, his lovely wife Her Royal Highness Duchess Elizabeth, and Her Royal Highness Princess Diana.
My family is ecstatic to host you this evening during my son, Duke Emmitt’s, and his families visit from Brindleton Bay. Please enjoy!
Emmitt was excited to meet members of the Royal Family, his family. He didn’t know them much at all besides what he knew of them as public figures. He was excited to bridge the gap between the families.
As the night continued, Frederico saw a great opportunity to talk Emmitt up to King Spencer. Despite his plan to make Emmitt the next King, he didn’t want to create more bad blood in his family. He hopes that if King Spencer gets to know Emmitt, he will see the fine young man he is. While King Spencer may not endorse someone over his own sister to take the throne, he should at least get to know the other option. Just in case, he has to make a decision...
